But everyone cracked the sads last year and said he didn’t know how to use the sub when Kennedy and Hewett were used as subs the last 2 years?
is that a good thing or bad thing. sounds bad
Ridiculous decisions,sub should be a player who can provide run on the outside IMO.

Agree, look at EPL soccer with substitutes, they take over the hard pressing, and breaking down defences due to fatigue. That translates in AFL to utilities like Cottrell who can run and run late through the lines, or play a role on someone, lock them down.

Comparing Aussie rules to soccer is ridiculous. They are completely different athletes, required skill sets and tactics. It’s more using players that can impact a game, small forwards, mids, and runners imo

Geez, TDK as sub last year has to be up there. The results from that will haunt us for a bit. It forced Kennedy out the door for a start.

Hasn't impressed me at all during pre season. I know we need a KPD but since Durdin got hurt again none of the others have stood up. Phillips has been "okay", McMahon is more a forward and worries me physically (gets pushed off ball easily) and DGB is more a Marchbank type IMO
Positive is Silvagni has been very very impressive in defence
I have mentioned him a couple of times over pre season. Very impressive. He's a "smart" footballer. Uses it well and quick. A couple of times he has been off HB and look really good.
Would not surprise me if we gave him a spot. Very popular amongst group and has a presence
Individually Cripps Hewett Walsh Cerra (Kennedy) are bloody good players. Would be in anyones best 22. My concern has always been about the "sameness" of our midfield. Feel we lack leg speed and some dash and struggle to defend if we don't get hands on ball first around contest.
I really like Lord but he again is a bit the same. Even Ben Campo is more an inside player
I am really hoping Smith Elijah step up and give us something different. Interesting that Motlop Williams Durdin have had bursts in middle during pre season. I think that is Voss trying to add some speed etc in there
