Yep. This. Well said.Whatever people think of the decision the Club had DGB, McMahon, Phillips, White, Evans, Durdin, M.Carroll with them for 12 weeks or more, under their noses, in match sims, training everyday and mixing with the team.
Each player was given every possibility to impress. The coaches would have got to know each playing intimately. Can't fault this
I actually believe our recruitment processes are the best they have ever been
Agree. And it is puzzling. Is it just confidence with Young? Feel he has more to offer.I don't mind Young, but strangely plays better when Weitering is out
Although, wasn't too bad late in the season
I just wish he was more aggressive
The main problem he has is when he gets the ball it’s always hurried leading to poor disposal and decision making. He needs to build his confidence.

Yep. Doesn't get back off the mark, and generally just kicks it down the line. Got to the point where opposition would intentionally leave him free in the zone from kick ins.I feel like his problem from 2023 onwards has been taking the mark and just standing still for 30 seconds, helping us move quickly is an improvement IMO
Guerra was a beautiful left foot kickNot sure why but I'm thinking Brent Guerra
Hoping it’s just that Bernie is a right-footer as the only difference…Guerra was a beautiful left foot kick
Evans on the other hand...
The club will need to do better than going with H and TDK as the tall forward options.Have to admit I’m a little concerned about Charlie. Comments are all around he is feeling soreness in knee and they are “hoping” recent ops relieves these issues.
Won’t play early rounds and some have suggested 8 weeks but no one is really sure

If JSOS is going to be lock down a spot down back, and with Haynes looking solid, Gov should be switched forward and Kemp needs to make his mark up forward too.

He’s a liability with ball in hand
The Durdin injury today reinforces the clubs decision to recruit Evans.
Unfortunately for durds it's looking like the usual story at Carlton. Just can't stay on the park.
it seems Durdins, little or big, don't like parksThe Durdin injury today reinforces the clubs decision to recruit Evans.

That's a bit of an exaggeration for me.He’s a liability with ball in hand
Have to agree... I don't think the oppo really have to plan around our smalls like the Betts, Garlett and Yarran days. Looking at that list, there's legit danger in all but ours, tigers, nth, suns and *. ImoIMO we would rank bottom 4 in the league:
Adelaide: Rankine, Rachele, Keays, ANB
Brisbane: Cameron, Rayner, Lohnman, Ahchee
Collingwood: Hill, McCreery, Elliott, Schultz
Essendon: Perkins, Gresham, Kako, Guelfi
Fremantle: Bolton, Switkowski, Frederick, Walters
Geelong: Stengle, Close, Miers, Mannagh
Gold Coast: Rogers, Rosas, Long, Berry
GWS: Greene, Daniels, Jones, Stone
Hawthorn: Watson, Ginnivan, Moore, McDonald
Melbourne: Pickett, Chandler, Spargo, McAdam
North: Curtis, Zurhaar, Ford, Hansen
Port: Rioli, Berry, McEntee, Mead
Richmond: Mansell, Campbell, Rioli, Green
St Kilda: Higgin, Garcia, Butler, Collard
Sydney: Papley, Hayward, Adams, Wicks
West Coast: Ryan, Long, Owies, Cripps
Bulldogs: Weightman, West, Vandermeer, McNeil
So are half our other defenders. He’s a liability with ball in hand
I don't understand why we can't just have one of our running backs run past him when he takes a mark or wins a free kick for a quick receive. He’s a liability with ball in hand
Opposition know he is a liability and leave him unattended in the pocket at kick ins. And we invariably kick it to him.I don't understand why we can't just have one of our running backs run past him when he takes a mark or wins a free kick for a quick receive.
I understand that but when he marks it just have someone run past for a quick handball and let them worry about disposing of the ball. Otherwise he should just take the safe option and go long. For me it's not even the kick itself as much as the time he takes to get back on his mark and decide what he wants to do with the ball.Opposition know he is a liability and leave him unattended in the pocket at kick ins. And we invariably kick it to him.
Those bagging Young, Weitering was not any better today.
And dont get me started on kick sideways McGovern. Why does he insist on kicking sideways 30 metres out in the middle of the ground near the oppo goals? He gave away at least 2 goals doing this.
At least Young has a go and can mark and spoil. His disposal hesitation is the lack of confidence and really the fault of the leaders and coaches. Encourage the guy seriously!!
Yes, why is that? He should be up the field as a non-losing option.Opposition know he is a liability and leave him unattended in the pocket at kick ins. And we invariably kick it to him.
Fantasia if fit will exceed Owies output easilyThe ever reliable and robust 68kg frame of Orazio will fill the breach!!
