He’s a port person, nuffy, full of shit.

He hasn't had the best games the last two weeks - but there is plenty to work with for me.

Saying he is not an intercept mark is not accurate.

He avg. 1.8 intercept marks a game this season, while Wilkie avg. 2.4.

He averages the same amount of intercept marks as Mac Andrew and Sam De Koning, while he averages more than Jack Buckley, Hammer, Luke Ryan, Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, Tauru, Josh Battle among others.

Considering he has only played 22 games and Wilkie has played 153, I back the club to develop Aleer into a good player.

Also, if you had watched him play that closely, you would understand that his height (which honestly isn't that small at 194cm anyway) doesn't really matter as much with his leap.

If we are not selling the farm to get him in both draft picks and salary, then play on is the call.

I’m sorry he’s not the player we need, it’s lazy recruiting at its best. This line of thought goes something like player x is blocked by a plugger or Dunstall so if you need a forward look at them. It was rubbish then and it’s rubbish now.

The facts are he’s turning 24 he’s played 22 games and looked out of his depth in most of the games I’ve seen which would be 12 or more at least in part. His last two games have been terrible, flogged and out of his depth against the bulldogs and a 5 possession game with an AF rating of 15 last week.

If we can’t find better options for the contract we’re offering then somethings very wrong. That’s without looking at guys like Shoenmaker, Barrat etc after another pre season.

Anyway I can’t be plainer than that, imo he’s not an afl standard regular. Guys can be very athletic and yet be lost on a football field, I think Aleer is one of them.

If he does join us I’ll be hoping he proves me wrong and good luck to him.

I have no doubt that Kane’s vendetta against the saints stems from some sort of personal disagreement that he’s had with Ross. It’s good to see however, that Ross still lives rent free in Kane’s head.
