I hope you guys decide to play another young fella next year in place of Zak Jones.

Also that Travaglia kid looks like he will be a player. Onwards and upwards Sainters :)
Glad you see Travaglia that way, because I think he'll be Goddard like.

An outsiders perspective without the confirmation bias of a small handful of other St Kilda fans.

Trav will be quality, be patient.

Let's not forget how Dunstan started his career. Let's not forget Billings' 5 goal game against Dogs where Bont looked like the poorer option. I have no doubt Murphy Reid ends up a player, but still early days to cast comparisons.

He looks like a tough kid that doesn't back away from a contest. He reminds me a bit of Sicily when he first started playing in DEF for us. Trav has a bit of a head start on him though.

What does that even mean? I was all in on Reid but we selected Travaglia. I am talking about where I think he plays going forward.
If we had Reid, I would discuss where he would be playing with him.
To be frank I still want Reid over Travaglia however the recruiters wanted run. Reid is a smart footballer, with plenty of skills that I love. His weakness and fit in our list is that he is one paced which has been our mids issue ( or one of) for 15 years.
Recruiters wanted to correct that, they have Hall, NAZ, Hugo, and want Wison and Travaglia to run through the mids. We have Steele, Macrae, Pou, and Windhager who are mid paced.
For me Travaglia is looking more like a Webster replacement .... very tenacious and can play on smalls & medium talls and also can break lines with his running .... problem is his kicking

Tom Morris -

likely Marshall stays.

Marshall will explore his options this week coming during his exit interview but if the sub rule goes. More clubs will play 2 rucks.

Stkilda still adamant that he is staying and playing with TDK.
Yep ... if sub rule goes and they bring a bench of 5 or 6 then 2 rucks makes sense ..... of course maybe not for all games ..... horses for courses and all that

Personally think it’s way too early to have an opinion on Reid vs Tobey after their first season lol.

I say this as someone who doesn’t really see it yet with Tobey.

Dunstan looked like a future Brownlow medalist after his first season and he turned out a spud.

Luke Dunstan was poorly managed, my glorious SA U18 captain king will be back, just you watch!

(I may have been blinded by the #7 and his first year...)

Watching some of his games last year I reckon he's got a bit of Sam Gilbert about him. Quite nimble for his height, goes into attack as soon as he takes possession and kicking is a bit better than it looks but goes for some long range stuff that is easier to pick off.

He hasn't shown much yet but I reckon he's got plenty going for him. He's a very decent mark for his size too.

Reid looks like he'll be a gun but we don't need to worry about him we just need Travaglia to meet his potential. Even the best sides only have 4 to 5 A graders and a lot of Bs. If we can get 5 absolute guns from our crew of kids we just need the rest to be a solid B grade support for them. I'm fairly confident that he's at capable of at least that with A grade potential.

Jury is out on ryan
It depends on the cost
Windy, Wilson and Dodson are more important signatures than liam ryan

Small forward depth is a need still. If Collard could have a massive off season you'd stop looking but I think Ryan and the as well as the others makes sense.

His hands under pressure ...handballs out of congestion ... are pretty good as is his tenacity

There is something there to work with for sure but he just looks messy ... lacks a bit of class

Still he is only 18 and has now 12 games under his belt .... a big pre-season coming up and needs to put on more size

Windhager will stay.

Why the hell would he go to football prison for +10-12% wage. Would need to genuinely be double, which it isn’t and certainly won’t be after re negotiations in the coming days.

Same old stir the fan base up shit applied to Nas aaaaand it works every time even though you know it’s happening to you while it’s happening.
