There's a big barrier to Port trying to acquire Nas that hasn't been talked about. Future trading rules state clubs have to use at least two first round draft picks in a four year period.

Port Adelaide's recent history:
2019 - 2 first rounders
2020 - 1 first rounder
2021 - 1 first rounder
2022 - traded out (Horne-Francis)
2023 - traded out (Horne-Francis)
2024 - 1 first rounder
2025 - traded out (Lukosius)

Only reason they could trade in Horne-Francis was they'd banked past uses in 2019. AFL would have to grant an exemption and Port has already had one one past trade blocked for trying to stretch future trading rules.
AFL rule are like rubber though. They bent the rules so they could get jhf. You just know they will finger us

Nah don’t me wrong I agree with you, just hoping he 99% wants to stay and that’s something that tips him over to sign. Just thinking in my own head (without knowing anything obviously) that we try idea after idea then get to a certain point where it isn’t working that’s all
Got to keep trying.

I am over St Kilda getting shafted over and over again.

I dont begrudge Nas being closer to his family, but if he leaves I will be very bitter.

Just once can't we have the cards fall our way? and no I don’t mean 30 minutes here and there, I mean as a club. We're doing our best, we're scrapping, just give us a break on the devastating setbacks for a generation or so would ya, footy gods?

Day 34 of trying to work out how Tony is so confident he stays when it seems we're doing absolutely everything to try persuade him to sign
Because Tony isn't ITK, **** all people would know if he's staying or not, maybe no one, maybe just nas and BW, maybe sos and Lyon know if he's staying or not. A receptionist or some old guy hanging round the club wouldn't know shit

It just further reiterates how the f do they get a deal done? There's no price that will suffice but it has to be a major price if they're trying to prize out a top five player in the league at 22.

Uncontracted and only wants SA. Jordan Dawson, Isaak Rankine, Alex Neale-Bullen all went back to SA for unders. There is not really a lot of options when it comes to getting fair compensation unless we want to trade to the highest bidder from any state.

The AFL just has to mediate and see what the least worst outcome for both parties is.

He had concentrated on cricket so missed champs and wasn't drafted. Billings said I know a kid you could rookie. They liked what they saw so he was rookie.
Worked out well in the end.
I'll have to readjust the way I speak about Billings lol, he was our best recruiter of the 2010's
