Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Some Flyin' Ryan highlights from his Subiaco days.




I remember watching him back then and thinking how the hell is this guy not playing in the AFL, he was too good for the WAFL.

I wished we had got him back then but we have got him now, better late than never and he should have a few good years left.

I think he'll make a difference. He's an exciting player who makes things happen. If he can score 30 plus goals and help Snags and King score by making the defence accountable he will be very valuable. We looked better when Collard and Butler had good games. Both are unreliable for different reasons. He can also win clearance at stoppages which in the forward half is very handy. Lets Hall go up on the ball without losing anything forward of the ball. Actually some similarities but Ryan more high leaping.

I wouldn't be banking on Ryan kicking over 30 goals. The only time he has ever kicked more than 26 in a season was in 2019, when he kicked 30.

If he kicks 25 that's enough.

He offers a lot more than just goals. He's all class.

Max Hall only kicked 23 goals but was super valuable. Ryan can be like that.

I personally believe if Geelong wanted to host their finals in Geelong, they should have every right too. I feel as strongly about this as any issue in footy. I think anyone who disagrees is a moron.

Don't expect to see other clubs advocating for them though.

So what is everyones opinion on what Liam Ryan is going to cost ?

In points value - a late second to early third most likely. See us splitting our first to drop down further the first round from pick 7 towards Pou 2.0 (e.g., pick 13) and get the Flanders deal done.

The only way Cmac gets done is if the Hawks need picks for a star player like Petracca. It would need to be an opportunistic extra. Flanders seems like more of an obvious one. He'd be crazy to want to stay at the the GC and we'd be crazy not to chase him.

If he wants out after the finals he needs to publicly say so.
