2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Yes.

Obviously take this with as much salt as needed but 100% we contacted the Dogs last trade period, did our own investigation and whatever was found we backed off immediately.

This year it’s gotten even worse.

Even now any club can get him for pick 80+ in the draft and the Dogs will pay a decent heft of his salary (as much as their willing to do to pay him out) and still no club is going to touch him.
Fair enough. We can't fit him Tarryn Thomas on the same list anyway. 😏

Other than his first season, Flanders disposal efficiency has been over 70%, which is rated Elite & actually higher than Nas.
So I’d say he’s already an Elite user.
Don’t know where you get your stats!!
I would argue an elite ball user should be measured by how many scores they’re able to create, rather than how many targets they can hit

Not arguing your right to decide on what you think an 'elite ball user' is but using a non standard definition without conveying it before hand is going to making arguing your points quite difficult and lead to easy misunderstandings.

Considering that hitting targets is one of the teams main faults, along with skills in general, i'd say getting a guy able to execute kicks and handballs would be a good thing.

Just imagine the two of them together. Then add Oliver. You'd need full time minders for each of them.
Recruiting mummy’s boys hasn’t worked.

Time to roll the dice 😬

Merrett well and truly out the door if rumours are to be believed. Apparently he's been told not to come to the B & F night after he was confronted by Essendon's leadership group and gave a spray to Nick Martin referring to him as "chinless".

At this stage he's gone and Essendon are just posturing for trade value.

Have we ever been as ****ed as Essendon or Carlton???
If Naz had of left yes definitely.
But in the scheme of things I’d say no.
In modern AFL, no.

Those 2 clubs still have a lot of people from the 70s to 90s having big influence on their clubs and not to mention their cotrie people will stab you in the back as a coach to protect their people.

Our club is always forced to modernise and think differently.

Eddie for better or worse knew this shit in the late 90s, it took richmond til the 2010s to know it, Clarko has said that Hawks rebuild took inspiration from us drafting in the early 2000s.

It looks like they are all on their way to court apart from Benny Cousins who has been there done that and done a stint in jail.
It takes a special kind of delinquent to swim away from the crime scene.

Is why l think Hall must be played in the midfield full - time

He's one of our best shots for goal too so I'd prefer a 50/50 split between midfield and forward unless he has a twin just as good.

As funny as it would be to see Merrett walk out on Essendon and screw them I still don't want to see him go to the Hawks.

The Bombers would still be shit if they keep Merrett but the Hawks would be back to premiership contenders if they get him.

Even when Benny Cuz was on his on his drug benders you couldn't fault his fitness, he still had that elite aerobic capacity.

Not only did he swim across the Swan River to get away from the cops he ran across rooftops to get away from them too.
