2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th

I like Camma more but either way, one of them has to play.

Arent they a requirement in the CBA?
I deleted my message because I'm very confused about it

We aren't holding them but they are mandated

Maybe we are doing it differently? No clue

I am not sure about the easily for both Windy and Flanders...plus several others.

It will also depend on how much Trav, Garcia, Boxshall, Henry all come on, and then there is Wilson and The Pou

Hall now looks to be a lock as mid/hf.

If we play two tall forwards in King/Marshall or Caminiti, then Owens may join in different rotations too.

Come 2026, and even ignoring Hill and Wood, the players below do not all fit in to 22:

Stocker Howard/JSOS/Caminiti Wilkie
Hunter/Tauru Aleer Sincs
Wilson Flanders Windy
Hall Marshall Sharman
Higgins King Ryan

TDK
Nas
Garcia

Pou Owens Trav Boxshall Macrae/Steele Henry

LOC Collard
VFL team for the flag as well then :hearteyes::hearteyes::hearteyes:

apparently Ross doesn't rate them, feels if you're openly communicating with players all year and they already have an understanding, why do you need them?
He might not.

But my understanding was that it’s a requirement.

FWIW- we did them last year.

One thing that seems to be a little forgotten in the JSOS stuff.

Hes left and seemingly hasnt picked a club (assuming he has multiple suitors).

So it was THAT bad at Carlton for him that he wouldnt stay even though hes not 100% sure where he wants to go.

That feels like something that should be a media event at this point.

Player's Ass say's all exit meetings or discussion's need to be done by the following Wednesday after your last game.

St Kilda are not doing exit meetings if you get called in I'd say don't come Monday.
We evidently do them under Ross. I think people are getting confused with him saying it shouldn’t be a surprise what is said as feedback is clear throughout the year.

After leaving his exit meeting on Monday, Gresham said the club are keen for him to stay, but the fact he has no contract on the table is intriguing.

“Had some really good discussions with (coach) Ross (Lyon) before, and they’re really keen on me to stay,” he said.

“But, yeah, we’ll sort it next few weeks and sit down with manager and family and work it all out when the time is right.”

Just parachutes himself out of the place without knowing where he is landing 😂

To be fair, the rumours and talk I had heard about Walsh were very similar. Just so unhappy he was looking at leaving and mainly it was driven by Voss.

Flanders is seemingly a pretty good pure mid (although from a small and dated sample, and not good enough to get a run this year) but it doesn't fill me with confidence that he is also quite average in other positions, so much so that he was most recently used as sub.
i mean you're never gonna get a proper run in there up against ball hogs rowell and anderson averaging 30 odd touches a game, not to mention touk miller. As for other positions, he averaged 30 touches a game off halfback last year (which i know is a cheap kick position), but being that i owned him in fantasy, i watched a fair few suns games and he has good speed, which we need.

As for this year, he's been stuck doing the graveyard shift out at half forward, which is near impossible to make an impact from, especially with their forward line. and the one game he was used at sub, they did lose to port in the end

He’s out for personal reasons tonight, as an aside.

If we land basically everyone do we feel like the caps full going forward? To be able to sign everyone including nas past 2027 we're going to need a lot of cash meaning we might not be able to attract others next year.
