2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

As much as I complain they are doing everything I've ever asked. I'll still always whinge until we are the best run club in footy but they have done a lot of major structural changes that are so far ahead of where we were. They deserve credit for what they have done too this point. Still don't have time to coast along though. This is where whips start cracking and we need the results to pay off the effort put in.

I'm much more confident that we have built a list of strong youth to build around now. Even if we start to add players and step away from the draft a bit more there is a huge pile of a very promising youth that should at least have a smattering of high end talent in it. Last time the pool was way too small and too many eggs in a very small basket.
The main thing left to do is improve our strength and conditioning department.

Windy was never leaving. He just wanted the club to pay what he believes he deserves. Rightly so. He's not a flashy player, but he gives me Geary vibes. Much-loved player, plays his role, standout leadership qualities and most importantly, he wants to be here.

We will need to do a trade with WC, but have no doubt Ryan comes.

How badly do we want him? I don't know a hell of a lot about him, seen the odd highlight. But is output is not overwhelming, in fact it is pretty bog average. Not sure I would be giving too much up.

Has comparable stats to Butler, but just gets on the Park more often. I don't think we pay to much!

Feels to me like jack Silvagni had been a fairly average player and then had 1 good (not amazing) season as a defender? What am I missing here
I think the difference is some bright spark at Carlton had a brilliant idea to trial the son and grandson of two of the game’s great defenders … in defence! A year earlier he had little interest on the back of his previous role. Clearly looks a good defender .. notwithstanding, as others have said, ongoing injuries

I'm more excited by Ryan's ball use and ability to create a contest aerialy than I am about his goal output.

He's just all class ball in hand. He makes stuff happen.

Age and body are my only concerns
We run about 35 deep of listed players who should be putting their hands up for selection if we land all these players.

We will bat deep. Which should mean we can manage a few players along the way, if all goes to plan
