2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Even when Benny Cuz was on his on his drug benders you couldn't fault his fitness, he still had that elite aerobic capacity.

Not only did he swim across the Swan River to get away from the cops he ran across rooftops to get away from them too.
Elite fitness and elite at having a sessh

I would be going with Flanders ahead of CMac if I had the choice.

Flanders is struggling to break into a strong Suns midfield while CMac is struggling to break into a pretty average Hawks midfield.

Absolutely. CMac has stalled and don't see he has enough weapons in his game whereas I think Flanders can go another level or two.

well, it is a business...kind of the point is to make money while you can
Never have an issue with anyone in sport trying to make as much coin as they can whilst they get physically smashed during such a small window to make a livelihood.
The smart ones invest or get their study done to set themselves up for life after but most don’t.
It’s why I have no issue with Zerret getting his contract and then looking for more.
It’s a business, for clubs and for individuals.
Make the most of it.

I don't begrudge them either. If anyone is taking a moral stance, moving in hopes of a flag seems a bit more noble and worthy of respect though.
Merrett used the Saints to get more money out of Essendon, singed a multi year contract then wants out to try and win a flag.
Absolutely no integrity. He signed the bloody contract. Sign one for two years FFS, not 6 🙄

The ‘Cousins-to-Richmond’ story wasn’t a fairytale. It was a dud.

I wanted us to recruit Cousins when he was up for grabs after West Coast delisted him but we got his buddy Gardiner instead.

We made the right call, Cuzzy did his hammy in his first game for Richmond and Gardy didn't do his hammy until the 2010 GF.

If you’re as old as me you’d remember going to the curtain raiser and seeing two thrashings in the one day. Oh for the good old days.
rounds 1 2 3 1985,then round 4 we lost by 39,round 5 we won, surviving a mickey conlan snap for goal in the last minute,he was kicking those in his sleep every week back in the day, round 6 we lost by 3 points to geelong at moorabbin, ablett kicked 6.8 and sat on cunninghams shoulders, but joffa said your not taking mark of the year over me you campaigner and gave away the free kick preventing it,instead andrew manning took what should have been mark of the year, but alas didnt even get mark of the week

i attended all 6 games,i may have gone to round 9,i dont recall,if rd 10 vs essendon is the game where we made the stirring last quarter comeback where some dickhead saints fan got into an altercation vs terry smith blaming him for the loss, then i was at that game also, just checked terry smiths record, yes i was at that game,he finished up at richmond in 86,most stirring comeback ive ever witnessed, the crowd was absoloutely rocking that day,but we blew it

Hawks defenders have been sensational.
Battle (193)
Barrass (194)
Scrimshaw (194)
Sicily (189)
All athletic to a point and strong interceptors. Even Impey and Hardwick can play taller and take a grab.

Excites me as to what our back six could do next year.
Barrass 29 yrs-old,
Battle 27 yrs-old

New recruits. Grandpa babies.

Both have turbo-charged the Hawks.

mnnn

I reckon that Essendon game was when the hotdog stand caught on fire at Moorabbin and the end Essendon were kicking to was clouded in smoke as we banged on 8 or 9 goals in the last quarter to almost win the game

I don't know why people seem to think because JUH is indigenous he'd come to our club and cease being a complete tool.

I hope we go nowhere near him. Reckon it would be a huge mistake.
There is no actual noise from any media or ITK about this actually being a chance? Is this just some hypothetical from BigFooty posters? Or is there actual noise about this? Surely not.
