Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

This source is very reliable but has told me deals are fluid and changing all the time

That’s a good price for Steele. I’m just not that wild on CMac as others. If Ro still goes and it’s pick 17, then that instead of the F1 (and add bits around the edges).

We lose next year's first which should be outside top 10 (as I think we play finals) and Steele for Cmac and Essendon's 2nd (which will be very good because essendon likely bottom 2-3). Sign me up!

You would think Essendon's 2026 Rd 2 pick is early 20s and our 2026 Rd 1 pick will be in the teens e.g. 10-15. Basically we are swapping Cam Mackenzie for Steele and a bag of peanuts. If Mackenzie can be a high level mid, then this is interesting. If just trading for Mackenzie who's was a pick 7, would think need to cough up a late first round. So valuing Steele as a late first round which is about the mark.

What if it's Marshall + Steele for SDK, Mackenzie and a 2nd round?

I'm not overly keen on CMAC, but if the reports are true that Steele is still on a big wage, the value in trading him is in dumping the salary, so don't expect a high return.

Essendon F2 is basically Geelongs F1 anyway.

Hawks should take both us and Essendon out for dinner before ****ing us.

They get Merret and give up one first and two fringe players albeit Cmac is highly rated.

Hawks would be paying 2 firsts (Mackenzie would cost a late first round) + Mitch Lewis who's a good young forward when he is on, averaging 36 goals before his latest injury (also worth a late first round). That's quite a lot for a 30 year old Merrett.
