Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Would be going hard at Geelongs first next year rather than this year. Pick 17 in a shit draft or the chance they fall off a cliff and land us a top 10.

Depends on what we are looking at needing in trade capital. Getting all our trades done this year is also not a bad idea.

There was also a bit of 2009 2010 Saints about Geelong too. Elite system but soft bottom 6 against a stack of elite talent and depth right through the squad.

Brissie won't have Neale, Cameron and Zorko much longer. Take three guns out of any side and they start to thin out. Starcevich and Bailey might get picked off as FAs too.

Exactly and Geelong aren’t alone in this.

A few pretenders like the mutts are kidding themselves if they think a Willkie will solves their problems. Look at some of the guys getting regular games for them. They also prove that depth is overrated if it’s made up of D grade strugglers.

This Brisbane team has an eerie resemblance to the champion team they had under Mathew’s. They’re just so strong all over the park and getting stronger thanks to the afl. We’ll be waiting a long time for this team to age out and they’re slowly building out the go home factor.

Leek Aleer is here, we just have to hope whoever thought he was worth the effort can turn him into a player.

I think we should be angling for Geelong”s first this and there first next year for Marshall sounds overs but in reality it’s like pick 25 this year and possibly 12-18 next year even without academy and father sons, sounds about right

They lose say Zorko, are getting 2 FAs, and Pick 5 as an Academy match. Darcy gives them a younger ruck option.

And they have already a bundle of very good young talent.

That's 9 who played today, all pretty important. I doubt they lose too many important ones straight away but the next couple of years that group will shrink a bit. Andrews obviously the one they'd miss the most if he got a long-term injury, though I rate Payne.

They’re finishing top 4, getting top 5 picks every year and now they’re getting free agents on top. History says they’ve probably only got one more grand final in them next year but I just can’t see them slowing down any time soon. Harris Andrews is only 28 as well, he’s probably the only irreplaceable.

They have unbelievable depth. Zorko will be replaced by Coleman. They’re about to get Draper to cover Fort/Big O. They have an abundance of small forwards already so Charlie won’t leave a big hole. Ashcroft x2, Annable for absolute peanuts.

They’re not dropping off anytime soon.

That late first and Marshall go to Geelong for SDK

SDK and Flanders is a much smarter set of two players than what we would get for our current first pick and the pick we would likely get for Marshall.

Still highly doubt it, but it isn’t as gross as it sounds tbh on face value

But it would mean Wilkie is going because that key back log jam would be the equivalent to the Monash in peak hour and a 4 car pile up before the Chaddy exit.

One of the big takeaways for me is that the two rucks can work. If Fort and McInerney can work then imagine what TDK and Marshall could do. If we are going to trade Marshall we need to be demanding MASSIVE overs. Don't see the point in it at all, we can actually have a really neat forward line with him up there in my opinion. Of course Geelong will try to play it cool but they'll be desperate for him. If we are serious about going up the ladder we should keep him.

Two /three more years of him with TDK and then bring Dodson in.

We have a lot of key defenders but we don’t have a long term big 200cm defender for the Sam Darcy types. I’d still take SDK if he was available which I doubt he is.

Caminiti has had a decent first season in the position and is 197. Would rather persist with him than overpay for De Koning
