Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

If the Giants are so desperate for a F2 why can’t they just take the F3 from the Eagles.. going to be basically the same pick considering we’re about to 3-peat with flags and the Eagles are going to 3-peat with spoons

Look, I’ve never heard a club walk away 6 days out from the finish line because of a second rounder.

So for me, it’s one of 2 things:


1. The most likely option is us posturing. Giants drop the price and take a third rounder or something to this effect.

Or

2. The most unlikely option is that we have got another semi decent fish hooked and unless Marshall & Steele both go. We can’t do both.

I recon option 2.

If we were posturing, we have done it a long way out.

Feels like the saints have given Aleer as much notice as they can, so another team can have a crack ?

TDK, SOS, Flanders and Ryan all done in the first week of trade week. Did Max Heath a solid and sent him to the Dees. Still almost a whole week to let this Aleer, Marshall and any other possibilities play out. Media pundits squealing, we must be doing something right.

It’s ****ing hilarious (and also incredibly sad) that the Aleer deal or no deal is the best thing to happen to the Dogs, Blues and Bombers all year.

Personally I’m loving seeing how much everyone is rattled and hates the club. Can’t wait to see this blow up etc…

If the Dogs lose Khamis for peanuts and then pay a 2nd rounder for Aleer I'll laugh my ass off.

I fully agree and am happy that Moose gets another opportunity. Just seems counterintuitive to then turn around and bring in another guy on a similar wage when you could just pay the first guy.

Crazy that no one on any of these shows talking about Aleer hasn’t even considered the

“… are we sure Aleer is worth a F2? He is out of contract and hasn’t set the world on fire, could this just be a bargaining position from the saints due to the Giants asking for too much?”

I suspect we think that giving away a 23 year old for a 4th and the giants demanding a second rounder for a 24 year old back up has played a role in this right now

If you actually go cold on a player, you don’t come out and announce it, you string it along all trade period until it falls over and you just blame the other team for valuing them too high.

You announce you’re out on a guy when you still want them but their current team aren’t coming to the table in good faith

Which old or cheap rucks are available to slot behind TDK and Dodson?

Goldstein as a playing coach.

Melbourne delisted Tom Fullerton after trading for him. Not sure the story there.

Jacob Koschitzke has had some decent moments. More of a forward though. Could be like Peter Wright from Temu maybe?

Keiran Strachan had some decent numbers for the Crows.

Every talks about old mate from Southport with the hot mum. Crossley I think?

Could the Aleer drop off be a hint that SDK is coming across? He could play as a back up ruck in the defense half while TDK takes the centre forward stuff.

Otherwise I think we back in TDK, pump development into Dodson & Keeler, and let Doogs know that if he wants to survive then he better be ready to play some ruck minutes.

1. The pick was used on Ryan so there's no point wasting time and if they wanted to pull out then sooner the better for a raft of reasons.

2. Jsos makes Aleer a bit of luxury.

3. Marshall becoming less likely further reduces the need for Aleer.

The most likely explanation is that Aleer probably bacame surplus to needs so he was dropped asap to allow his manager to get on with it and we haven't been c**** by dragging it out to a slow death.

If I'm RTB I'm looking at the list right now and thinking it won't get better than this, and lock the gate. Gubb and SOS can crack a beer and take EOI's but that may be all she wrote.

Im a bit confused, could anyone clear up how Geelong offering 3 first rounders translates to us getting SDK?
Straight swap for Rowan?

3x first rounders for Curnow and a F2nd.

SDK + F2nd for RoMa + 2x F3rds (ours and Eagles)
