2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Genuine make something out of nothing type. He’ll win his own ball and score against the flow. He’s a lot like Hall where he turns half chances into goals.
Correct me if I’m wrong. But I seem to remember Liam Ryan being quite a pest when the Wet Toast beat us this year. Very dangerous. Looking forward to seeing him in action for us.

Josh Jenkins reckons he spoken to someone ITK that Aleer ends up at StK still

There was absolutely an expectation wed discuss (in good faith) a deal with Geelong

Has anyone suggested Geelong is done? Walked away? Cause thats the issue we have, not that our offer wasnt accepted.

People keep doing this as the comparison and its not.
To be fair, offering the Blues three first rounders was as good as walking away.

How did they think they were then going to satisfy us?

Took a few things from that Mackie interview:
  • Marshall is their priority, following up with SOS first re: status of the pick 19 offer before putting it up for Curnow
  • That both offers for Curnow and Marshall are not their best and final
  • They still have hope of bringing in both, in order to do so then player/s would need to go

Are they still whining about Aleer?

No, they've moved onto dining now.
Mackie saying he's not sure what we are wanting...

We want them to p155 off.

Then we want TDK and roma to destroy rhys stanley next september so violently that it will be the first football game ever to be given an R 18+ rating.

Am I the only one who thinks Carlton got a great deal for Ainsworth? I'm completely fine with what we paid for Flanders, but it seems Blues got themselves a bargain
Carlton gives Cory Durdin (23 yo small forward that kicked 14 goal this year), pick 26
Carlton gets Ainsworth (28 yo old small forward who kicked 21 goals this year), pick 67 which is worthless

So basically Carlton swapped Cory Durdin and pick 26 for a slightly improved but older small forward. Sounds to me they overpaid. If they got Ben Long (44 goals in 2025) from the deal, then it would have been a good deal.

We got Flanders a game changing goal kicking inside mid in the mould of Lachie Neale (would average 30 possessions a game next season) for pick 7, which is essentially a pick 12 after FA compensation and NGA/father son bids.

Carlton should not be bringing in any players over 22.

They've got a long rebuild ahead of them and they're choosing a terrible time to bottom out.
