Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

He has a weird hate for us.

I don’t listen to a lot but I heard him once and though wow you are a seriously dumb unit.

Then I stopped and thought nah he’s not really. He had a decent career at Adelaide before picking up some super bonus money at Geelong. He’s still making money out of football, that’s not dumb, I think he’s a quite Kane.

His shtick is to come across as a gormless big buffoon, he doesn’t cop the heat kane does but boy he’s annoying. In the whole session I listened to he didn’t have one sensible thing to offer, that’s trolling.

Seems like the SDK stuff is just bigfooty rumours. Rather keep Ro than any crap first rounder from Geelong.

Be stoked if we are finished and don’t lose anyone else, next week will be fun!

It’s a stinker imo, he’s not in the hawks plans but we’ll get bent over to help them.

Me too. The point I’m making is that if we don’t, it’s okay. We still have probably half the team aged 18-22. 2027 is another story though!

A question for Damo and Jenkins on the Marshall trade is why do we have to accept a "fair" price. He is contracted we should be getting overs

The thing about Kornes is that he wants people to know that it's an act and he's smarter than that. He does care what people think about him.

Jenkins honestly just seems like such a moron with virtually all his commentary that I can't decide if it's Daniel Day Lewis levels of acting-I-don't-break-character-until-after-the-DVD-commentary or maybe he is just a moron.

I know what Occam's Razor says about it.

No excuses, we have to make finals next year.

Even with the most optimistic view of our players development we still don't have a list that looks like a premiership side, we need to make finals attract at least one more quality player next season.

Sure we will still have some young players, but the bulk of our list will be at the stage where you should be winning more games than you lose.

Hope the reliable birdie is far off the mark. Keen on CMac but after hearing Steele wants to stay I’d much rather back him in than trade along with a pick downgrade which could get ugly unless we play finals. Keeping our first and a captain-less Steele in a forward-mid role sounds much better than a unproven Mackenzie who whilst talented hasn’t been able to lock down a spot in Hawthorn midfield that’s desperate for quality on ballers.

I’m not sure who he has modelled himself on overseas but he thinks he’s this controversial, tell it as it is news breaker.

I don't think it's terrible at all. In fact I'd see that as a decent win.

Steele is worth not a lot unfortunately, to get a second would be as good as we could possibly ask for.

And a future first for McKenzie is a good deal, especially if we end up playing finals.

Hes excruciating. Talks about himself and Geelong constantly and has weird fixations with certain clubs and players. He said he feels sorry for players drafted to St Kilda and shit like that. He’s as dull as he he is gormless. Media personalities used to need a personality. He’s a milquetoast moron.

• They are a holes and shafted poor old Aleer
• Saints will still be bottom 6, but if they don’t make a Prelim then it’s a disaster
• Everyone wants out, but see point 2, so people are stuck in the Tower of London against their will
• Have a huge legal bill and settlement for lost earnings

I just don’t rate him that high. He could easily be another GOP fringe player after a few years. To me he’s a second round pick type. Like Jack Steele when we got him. Steele and a future first for a project mid is crazy. I’m back Garcia to be just as good and between Flanders, Windy, Phillipou, Hall and Nas we have a decent spread. Wilson, Trav, Boxshall and Fincher coming up behind that.

We are maxing out our salary cap, brought in 29yo ryan,
re-signing 30yo wilkie and
(presumably) retaining 30yos steele and marshall.

We are absolutely saying anything less than finals next year is a total failure.

After next year- we can push into genuinr flag contention pretty quickly- ala the pies a few years ago after dumping buckley
