Realistically what picks are expected for Ah Chee, Starcevich, and Robertson?
So it wasn’t a business 25 years ago. I call BS.

Max Heath is as good as locked in to Melbourne. The trade/FA period and draft has suddenly turned quite interesting for us with what looks like 7 outs and 3 certain ins so 4 spots to fill.
Outs- Brandon Ryan, Darcy Craven, Oscar McInerney, Sam Day all confirmed +(highly likely) Brandon Starcevich, Callum Ah Chee and Dev Robertson.
Ins- Sam Draper, Oscar Allen, Daniel Annabel.
I'm hopeful we snap up Fergus McFadyen and Raphael Geesu from our academy, the remaining 2 spots I'd like to see us go for a depth ruck and tall defender, not necessarily them but eg. Jacob Blight and Max Heath.
Copeland stayed. Headland and Hadley (amongst others) went. Bradshaw made sure we dug every loose cent out of our pockets when it came to his contract. Michael screwed us.It’s all relative; Robert Copeland was offered life changing money from Richmond and took less to stay in order to be successful.
yep - more outsiders looking for opportunity that left were Jason Gram to St Kilda, Craig bolton to Sydney although at the time didn't seem huge losses.Copeland stayed. Headland and Hadley (amongst others) went. Bradshaw made sure we dug every loose cent out of our pockets when it came to his contract. Michael screwed us.
Dev and Kai stayed, and no doubt Hugh and Berry and others have knocked back massive pay packets too. Ah Chee and Starcevich went.
There isn't a substantial difference between the teams other than rose tinted glasses.

Twomey just said we are chasing Hawthorn’s first round pick off West Coast, currently pick 16.
“BRISBANE will push to land West Coast's pick No.16 in a trade for Brandon Starcevich as negotiations trickle on between the clubs.
And tied up in the discussions will be the high profile move of Oscar Allen to the Lions, which is the last remaining major free agency deal yet to be lodged.
The Eagles were granted an end-of-first round pick (now No.22) from the AFL as part of their assistance package, leaving them with picks No.1, 16, 22, 23, 37 and 56.
They are looking to land Starcevich using pick No.23, the first pick of the second round, but the Lions are targeting Pick 16, the first-round pick that is tied to the Hawks.
West Coast wants to trade for the two-time premiership Lion so that it doesn't dilute the free agency pick the Eagles will receive for losing Allen, which is expected to be pick No.2. Both Allen and Starcevich are restricted free agents.
Brisbane is chasing an earlier pick to tally more points to match a likely top-five bid for Academy gun Dan Annable.“
I reckon we will be chasing Adelaide’s first for Cal too. Whether we get it is another thing

Let the list management team do what they do best.I hope this is a bit of a beat up - surely given we are really entitled to not much / nothing with 2 free agents coming in the lions would be happy with pick 22 or 23 (as they currently sit - should only be OA pushing them out one more spot). I think we have always been quite fair in the past and have that rep but this seems to be pushing it a bit - especially for the other 16 clubs not getting anything out of this - don't want to add fuel to the anti-lions sentiment when we are overall liked as a team and club compared to a lot of other clubs I feel.
I also can't see there being any chance of a first rounder for Cal - is he worth it probably but he is out of contract and not a key player - maybe F2 and a later pick this year / some pick swaps - possibly F2 2026 and 2027 - that might work but would again be pushing it a bit maybe.
I don't want the lions to get less than they could but also do want win-win situations for clubs and even a little under for us when we are in a good position to build positive relationships and some good will now when we could need to call on it in the future. I also know its a bit of a hollow threat for Eagles posters but if we stuff WC around it would make a possible pick 2 call on Annable more likely and cost us almost as many points as getting 16 rather than 22/23.
We know how this works. The two clubs bluster and leak through the media for a week and a half before settling on something half way between the original two demands. It’s all theatreI hope this is a bit of a beat up - surely given we are really entitled to not much / nothing with 2 free agents coming in the lions would be happy with pick 22 or 23 (as they currently sit - should only be OA pushing them out one more spot). Max Knobel worth a list spot as depth? Listed as OOC still on footywire.Max Heath is as good as locked in to Melbourne.
Agreed.Noonw is perfect but our guys have the runs on the board in their selections.Geez there appears to be a number of negative posts about either Draper and/or Allen…
You guys support a club that has played in 7 consecutive finals series, 3 straight grand finals, and won back to back premierships.
If that doesn’t make you trust the system, and trust that the people at the club actually know what they are doing, I’m not sure what will?!
Enjoy the success and enjoy the club. The glass is not half empty here!!
Has to be the media priming the West Coast supporters for the inevitable trade that is going to happen, as there seems to be some unrest for their supports about pick 22 being “over”I hope this is a bit of a beat up - surely given we are really entitled to not much / nothing with 2 free agents coming in the lions would be happy with pick 22 or 23 (as they currently sit - should only be OA pushing them out one more spot). I'm a little confused on the starce thing. Don't we already have enough points to match a bid on Annable?
Short answer, no.I'm a little confused on the starce thing. Don't we already have enough points to match a bid on Annable?

Regardless, we hold the upper hand in the trade. Starce is about the best lockdown defender in the league (who admittedly comes with some risk) so I think it's not unfair to ask for a true first round pick.I'm a little confused on the starce thing. Don't we already have enough points to match a bid on Annable?
