That table really validates all of our whinging about the FIXture!
Against the top 9 teams - 2 more games more than the next closest (Geelong) and 3+ more than most.
Against the bottom 9 teams - 2 less than the next three closest and all the rest have 3 - 4 more than us.

Yeah, we've had a shit year. But.....

Yep, bundling windy and Keeler to Port in the NAS deal is a very fair outcome for all concerned parties…

Fair is irrelevant but I don't think you understood what I was trying to say.

If Port are trading for Nas then we probably get some sort of Berry/Sinn/Picks combo.

If Port are also going to make a play for Keeler and/or Windy (because they want to bring a mate along with Nas) then we likely get a fair bit more.

Assuming Port trade Butters to the Dogs/Pies/Hawks, we might be able to get a higher pick return on the deal than if it was just Nas alone.

I’m not sure why Port would need to bring over a mate for Nas when one of the arguments for Nas going to Port is so he can play with his mates.

No idea what Nas is thinking, but in saying that I'd doubt Ross would play him M/F for experience if he wasn't staying he would of just kept him at HB, no point pumping M/F minutes into him for no reason or gain.

Have a look at Voss & Carlton they know TDK in gone so they play Pittonet in the ruck & TDK up forward.

Cos money comes first and the fixture is based off what’s financially best for the league, why else, despite the rolling fixture, are the bombers playing several prime time games in this part of the year?

That and by seasons end it should even up a little bit more… not that that’s any fairer for us but it’ll brush over the reality.

Despite this, and how ****ing frustrating it is to have continuing and consistent inequities in the AFL, the bright side is blooding kids against quality sides, and giving them those sides a shake.

FWIW i think there is a CLEAR worst team and then probably 4-5 in the next bracket, which we sit in. How you rank that next bracket is up to you but ill tell you what, Richmond looked a SHITLOAD better against the Eagles than we did.

We unfortunately played the Eagles in the one week this year when they were truly motivated. The week that one of their own passed in truly tragic circumstances.

Seems like cruel and unusual punishment to show us that he’s also an elite midfielder these last two weeks if they know he’s leaving (or a big chance to leave).

I didn’t need to know we had an elite, top 5 in the comp midfielder this whole time…only to lose him in 6 games time.

This is honestly the worst year for a Saints fan that I can remember. It's been 25 years since we drafted an elite player and when one finally comes on all the talk is about him leaving and what return of B grade platters we get in return while also collapsing down the ladder.

I just wish the whole season would finish and piss off into the history books. Not even the draft looks overly exciting and the next few are going to be compromised too. At least next year we might sacrifice a coach to the footy gods or something if we can't move forward.

If you're talking about "statistics" you have to look into the detail- who teams have actually played.

Not to mention our percentage is 85.3% and Richmond's is 68.5%

Don’t think this is near our worst for the last 25 years. The period when Cho’s heroes would kick 3 goals 14 to half time was much worse

Theyve also won one more game in paying more and lost two.

Given our current form were no monties to beat Richmond or Melbourne (in fact i hope we lose them tbh). Even North isnt a home run.

Our draw hasnt been kind but every year i see saints fans banging on about this unfair draw. We love an excuse.

Weve been honorable in losses to good teams, totally agree, but maybe we just tend to play to the standard of our opponents. By seasons end its almost certain that West Coast will be a histotically shit footy team and well be their only scalp this year (which unsuprisingly is caveated by saints fans as "oh they were motivated" etc etc.)

Weve played some footy where weve looked top 4 and weve played some footy where weve looked 18th.

We gonna finish bottom 5, IMO were pretty similar to the bottom 3 teams.
