There does become a point where the player (and less so the manager) needs to understand if he wants to stay, anything extra that he takes is anything we can’t use to lure recruits and improve.
Not nas. Happy to have signed

Agent is pushing further and telling the player watch what I’ll do for you. Clubs loaded etc.

Has train wreck and wasted talent written all over it, needs to pull his head in.

Quite the demands and inflated ego for showing not a hell of alot other than arrogance so far.
I don’t like it at all but I reckon we’re gonna see more of it.

The more money available the bigger the egos get. US sports are almost an ego management exercise for coaches now

Players who cherry-pick their way to a premiership contender, should always have an * next to their “premiership player” title.

It’s as weak as it gets. Tom Lynch the obvious one.
Honestly, I blame the parents and teachers for raising kids with the spines of jellyfish who duck under the covers and cry for mummy at the first sign of adversity.

Loved that drive by on Hodge - basically telling him to do his homework!
Well done Roo.

Also, Rossy’s a big boy, doesn’t need Roo and Joey to stand up for him.

I found the… “we got bent over for a contracted Houston - so we are going to bend you over” trade hypotheticals hilarious
Port Power promise to let Houston go half way through the season when they thought they were getting a potential pick 5 and F1 from Melbourne and then recruit Perryman as a FA to replace him on more money than he was on but then shit hit the fan at Melbourne so Houston decided on Collingwood and they had to let him go cheaply as Houston was clearly pissed and then Collingwood also got Perryman.

It would have been a recruiting masterclass but the Temu Collingwood got schooled by the real Collingwood, their fall back trade was Lukosius and gave a F1 for him despite taking on his $1M backend contract but signed him to another 4 years at $1M and also took on Atkins contract. They bent themselves over.

That's a terrible result if true

This is very funny stuff, thanks ABAB. You’re welcome back anytime for more Port lols

It would have been the perfect trade had Houston choose Melbourne and them replacing him with Perryman with no draft capital except salary, Melbourne supporters were really pissed then with the thought of giving up pick 5 + F1 for Houston and were very relief when the Petracca news hit the media.

Shouldn't have told every one that would listen that we were offering a middling ruckman billions.

Have to believe Ross knows something that the journo's dont. Otherwise, it was an extremely strange way to answer the question at the end of his press conference yesterday.
I think he’s agreed. They’re nutting out the details. He has to know by now - just the media don’t.
Sounded like the club’s increased it to $1.4 million.
Manager squeezing the most he can out of it. ( Good for his pocket too, probably his best payday so far)

This is honestly the worst year for a Saints fan that I can remember. It's been 25 years since we drafted an elite player and when one finally comes on all the talk is about him leaving and what return of B grade platters we get in return while also collapsing down the ladder.

I just wish the whole season would finish and piss off into the history books. Not even the draft looks overly exciting and the next few are going to be compromised too. At least next year we might sacrifice a coach to the footy gods or something if we can't move forward.
Im no masochist but can’t agree with this
I think the years under Richo after Lyon had gone we were spiralling and there was fck all youth coming through to get excited about was way way worse than this year
This year I’ve decided I’m not interested in AFL media clones telling us Ho shit we are
The more astute amongst them know that our future trajectory is bright ….perhaps for the first time in a long time…
I genuinely feel we have a plan we are executing on it ..its growth isn’t linear but the green shoots are too numerous to be an accident
Now we must stay the course it’s seasons like this that we’ll look back on as defining
That aside ….IF by pre season end next year Kings out with knee Pou is mysteriously out with rare Achilles and Nas tearing it up for Port I’ll concede …it’s all gone to shit

Conversely, NAZ unsure, and manager meeting him in Thursday to say his best option is to cut ties and go home as he has the best deal from Port.
