Disagree.

More of it now than 20 years ago.

Free agency + Future trading has been a horrific addition
That’s my point the afl have created this situation and they intend to expand on it. The players are simply taking advantage of the situation.

I didn’t say I liked it just that I don’t blame the players and that I don’t think they owe the clubs anything. Take Reid as an example, it was WC who chose to hang onto the pick and draft a Victorian kid. Reid has gone over played well for a kid and now he’s shopping for the best deal for him.

Where did he say that?

So confident this was the week Wilson got dropped and he was talking about what happened with our first round pick the year prior.

Ross during the week Darcy got dropped:

In terms of their youngsters, St Kilda has dropped Darcy Wilson and Lyon referred to second-year blues for the speedy utility.

"Sometimes you have to break the glass a little bit, or just break that cycle and free him up," he said.
He said it in a presser.

The 2 Journos in the last 3 weeks that have given the most in depth updates have been Ross’s old mates.

Caro and Jay Clark.

That’s no coincidence. Twomey actually knows **** all right - surprisingly.
If it’s draft related Twomey is your guy. If it’s not, he’s headlined chasing to build his media profile.

He’s one of the best, if not the best, in the business

Other journos blurt out everything they hear no matter correct or incorrect - he doesn’t
Still doesn’t change the fact he hasn’t been in the same galaxy on the NAS news thus far.

Caro and Jay Clark been the leading news breakers

Caro saying something has changed in the last 3 weeks. Apparently St Kilda believed it was a "fait accompli" 3 weeks ago that he'd re-sign and now his manager is saying he hasn't made up his mind.

There's also a belief (within St Kilda) that Nas' manager is playing hardball because they know how large the TDK offer is.

When he was subbed the first time he mentioned it in the press conference I believe. Said Darcy had asked him to play down a level.

Fair enough. He's our MPV, if he wants the mantle, so be it. He's earnt it up til now, and we have it to give. With great pay packet comes great responsibility, has to stop being quite so flippant with ball in hand and play for the team a touch more. I'm uneasy with messiah players, but he's ours and for the moment we can accomodate him.

Want more, NAS?
Sign for longer.

Honestly….$1.4 mill a year? For just 2 years?
If that doesn’t take care of homesickness, nothing will.

What happens if he extends again after 2 years? Stays on the same money? Wants more? How will that affect our future salary cap when we need it for the two T’s, Pou, Owens etc?

I get it. . He’s a star but there are others who will want/need to be paid well too hopefully.

This smells a bit. I'll give it the Dummy Damo Discount but in any case, "mixed received" could just mean he didn't want Ross telling the world that he couldn't hack it in the AFL (how it sounds without context) - and I'm positive that this info didn't come from Wilson himself, likely a close mate or manager who Darcy was whinging to. You could probably say the same about Hugo Garcia after Ross said that he said he "played shit" 😂

Very much doubt it is anything at all to worry about.

Wouldn't the peanut gallery pundits and commentators be gleeful if they were able to agitate our promising young players to leave the club? A chance to feel powerful and set St Kilda on their arses for another decade, they would be telling their nurses stories about that moment with glazed eyes in their nursing home when they get old.

Doubt it's Nas holding out much, feels like classic manager games. Ben Williams probably has his eye on a new car or no
No doubt it’s the manager.
But NAS must be involved in the decision ma

100%, Nas' value is increasing by the minute, his manager knows that and will milk us for every penny. If we're paying TDk 1.7 mil a year, I'd happily cough up 2 mil a year for NWM. If he plays a full season in the midfield this year then he's a genuine brownlow contender.

TDK is signing for 5+ years.

This nas kerfuffle is over 2 years.

His agent has told him to trust him and nas is. It’s not the player pushing for more money. It’s Williams saying he will get him more just watch.

Not necessarily, do remember that back in the day tricky Ricky was a prominent manager and we all know what he got up to on AFL money.

Suffice to say, all things considered don't discount player managers advocating with buckshot in the hip and telling their client what's the play a bit.

Well I know where Id rather be throwing the 1.7m
Or even the potential 2m we could have offered Rowell.

Her comment about something changed does not make me confident.

I just hope he signs this week.
