I’ve got some third hand mail (that I desperately hope is true).

From the board of the club through some connections at work.

Details being finalised on a new deal after Wednesdays meeting last week.

To be announced a week after when everything is ticked off.

If it’s not true, I’ll cop all (rightful) abuse.

If it’s true, the victory lap will be insufferable.

I can’t imagine a world of football without Nas playing for the Saints.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fan base fall in love with one of their own so much.

Teff-nut said that our current problems had **** all to do with our drafting and all because of the academies/FS, which is absolute garbage. Go your hardest whinging about the system, I’m right there with you. There’s a heap of broken elements in comp but most of our recent problems have been self inflicted.

The point being made which a rainbow warrior unicorn like yourself has again failed to acknowledge is that two things can happen simultaneously
1. Saints like all clubs can stuff up draft picks AND
2. The system that rewards multiple shots at those draft picks for fck all given up has helped in keeping us mediocre
They are the facts. My point (which you being dim) is it’s not 1 of those things in isolation.

AND a Harley Reid generational type was in this draft class AND the AFL snuck us pick 1 to compensate for our own incompetency, oh AND also if port Adelaide were a big brand club playing shite, like Carlton, and needed the pick me up.

Marshall looks gone. I would also trade Steele if we got something reasonable.

I just struggle to see how we fit both Macrae and Steele into the 1 side once you factor in the following:
-NAS moves to the middle permanently;
-We need to get Hall rotating through there. He looks the goods in there, and we need speed and good ball use;
-Pou will return;
-Garcia trending very nicely;
-Boxshall needs opportunity;
-Windhager and Wilson can potentially rotate through there

We just can't afford to do another 12 months of Steele and Macrae in the same midfield when they are only marginally better than our young players. We only need 1 on the list.

With our first this year, I would absolutely be looking at locking down the best key forward in the draft. Pou, NAS, Hall & Garcia will be an elite midfield moving forward. We need 1 more key forward and 1 more key back prospect.

Putting our media literacy hats on for a moment. Something must have happened last week, cause there is no way 4 hours after his agent meets SOS, we get these leaks that are all relatively similar for it to be a coordinated troll job.

Either they jumped the gun or there is an agreement but just fine tuning the contract.

Inclined to agree. My belief is terms were agreed to, there will be both a check through a contract lawyer and then likely a cooling off period. Too many little snippets across multiple sources last week for it to have been nothing and honestly Tony wouldn't have said anything unless he had a very good bit of information.

Yeh, the point I made was that every other journo has had a different take every other day.

Williams has played it absolutely perfectly and I wouldn’t believe any leaks or rumours cause as you say they’re likely for someone’s benefit

TDK comes in, 5 years younger and a higher ceiling. Hopefully we get something decent in exchange for Ro in addition.
