Even with Switta coming in, we feel too tall and slow.
It looks from the outside that if they want to play Darcy it needs to be Voss that goes out. But they don’t want to do that. Could it be we have finally got to a point where we have too many good tall forwards.
That bone broth is just about to kick in. I don’t want to see Voss in the backline, I think he is too reckless for that. But I also don’t want to lose him, it’s a pretty tricky list management situation going forward.Maybe we trade you and trail Voss down back.
His Argo and attack on the ball be elite
Decent mitts too

Hawthorn are going with an identical line up.Even with Switta coming in, we feel too tall and slow.

Cripps isn’t too far away from a Fyfe level decline imo, he’d cost far too much with this right around the corner.Would anyone be keen for Patrick Cripps being tapped on the shoulder to return to WA?
I know he’s 30, but 2-3 years of contested grunt work surrounded by Serong and Brayshaw would be a top 4 team tbh.
Carlton are cooked. Probably will start rebuilding
No 2nd ruckman though are they ?Hawthorn are going with an identical line up.
Barass/Battle and Sicily with Dear, Chol and Gunston.
I'd argue Jackson is a better ruck than either Fort or McInerney, so my point stands. If Brisbane can win a flag with either of them as the main ruck, we can win a flag with Jackson as ours.God that one liner about Fort shits me. It's so disingenuous. It completely ignores two facts, first that Fort is not a trash ruck, second that McInerny dominated many games for Brisbane on the way to the grand final. They don't make the grand final without him, so this factoid about Fort is complete rubbish.
Yeah, I still think we're one tall too many.. Switta back helps the pressure though. They are playing, Switta is in though and Ras out so I assume Jackson is going to be playing more mid time too as the big bodied mid we lack.
Plus he’s their captain. Captains rarely leave their clubs.Cripps isn’t too far away from a Fyfe level decline imo, he’d cost far too much with this right around the corner.
I present exhibit A: O. Allen.Plus he’s their captain. Captains rarely leave their clubs.
True, though he is being pushed out, hence why it's pathetic the treatment he is receiving from his "fans"I present exhibit A: O. Allen.

Is he being pushed out? Eagles have put a contract in front of him that's pretty reasonable given his injury issues. If our captain was leaving for big $ i'd be giving him a fair bit of sh*t too.True, though he is being pushed out, hence why it's pathetic the treatment he is receiving from his "fans"

Fair concern and honestly if Darcy is going to be a long term part of the club and we're to make this work (other than revisiting Voss and the forwardline make up) Darcy has to be using his body around the ground and be more of an enforcer than he currently has been and use his size as a proper point of difference to his advantage rather than merely being a big body in the centre circle. He has to be helping break tags, clear space and split packs. This would be immensely beneficial considering how small our midfield core is.I'd argue Jackson is a better ruck than either Fort or McInerney, so my point stands. If Brisbane can win a flag with either of them as the main ruck, we can win a flag with Jackson as ours.
I will say that over the last few weeks the dual rucks have looked ok, the flow on affect of being too tall across the board has been a concern though.
Yep,100% he is being pushed out. Eagles want the pick and leaving him hanging to dry
Not sure if signing an 800k a year contract at the reigning premiers is exactly being hung out to dry...100% he is being pushed out. Eagles want the pick and leaving him hanging to dry
WCE are hanging him out to dry, not Brisbane. Completely different. WCE doing him dirty but you can easily see whyNot sure if signing an 800k a year contract at the reigning premiers is exactly being hung out to dry...
Would you really pay 800k a year for Oscar Allen? I reckon Brissie are offering huge overs on what he is worth. You can see why he would go, but I don't think the birds are hanging him out to try by offering him less.WCE are hanging him out to dry, not Brisbane. Completely different. Exhibits B&C: Chris Judd and Leigh Colbert. I said rarely not never.I present exhibit A: O. Allen.

Given his injury history you'd be super wary offering that sort of money. I think West Coast benefit way more than Brisbane do. You're taking a huge gamble by spending a big salary cap piece on a guy that has struggled to consistently stay on the park.Oscar Allen would be the cheapest mature body forward on the market end of this season, especially if he only costs $800-$900k a year.
Consider that if both are fit, big assumption, the comparison between Patrick Voss and Oscar Allen. You could get Voss for half the contract price, but you have to cough up a heap of draft currency and the more capable the player the more you're spending.
Brisbane could get Curnow off Carlton with a bounty of picks and $1.8m a year to him. Oscar Allen is the value buy.
WC were hoping to retain him for 3 years, to protect against the risk of him medically retiring. I don't have a problem with that, but they wouldn't be under offering compared to the market (WC are the smallest offer to Allen currently from multiple clubs as far as I know, by a long way) if they didn't get the draft pick #2 for letting him leave on a bigger deal.
They did it with Daniher...I presume that's the model.Given his injury history you'd be super wary offering that sort of money. I think West Coast benefit way more than Brisbane do. If WCE get pick 2 for him they walk away like robbers in my eyes.
