FF: Rachele - Thilthorpe - Rankine

HF: Keays - Fogarty - Ah Chee

C: Hinge - Dawson - Edwards

FOLL: O’Brien - Curtin - Soligo

HB: Laird - Murray - Milera

FB: Worrell - Keane - Michalanney

INT: Maley - Draper - Peatling - Cumming - Neal-Bullen

I think Tex is a 12-15 game proposition at best and is there for when one of Fogarty or Thilthorpe is injured (and to keep Fogarty honest - he was poor last year). Maley gives us a good contested marking/swingman option that we lack and can be the ruck chop out so we maximise TT up front as #1 target.

Want to see Edwards in the team and I think wing/HB is the spot.

Rankine, Rachele, Dawson and Curtin can swap midfield and up forward to maximise TOG and mix up our forward threats. The other mids Soligo, Draper and Peatling can cycle thru the bench and a wing.

I’m not big on the Max on ball or up forward experiment so I’d like to settle him down back and really see him excel in that role.

Hinge, Keays, Cumming, Laird, Milera and Neal-Bullen keep their spots as the incumbents but would want to see more from them individually and collectively than the last part of last season.

The whole thing has gone so far off course anyway.
Wasn’t the original claim that max is not an A grader? Pretty easy to argue he’s not.

Is Stewart an A grader, absolutely.
Is he still?

AA selectors have overlooked him the last 2 years after it was just a given for the previous 5 years?

Stewart is miles past it. You had to have not watched Geelong for the last two years to still think he's an a grader

He was better in 2025 than Michalanney and I'd back that to be similar again in 2026

He's not at he's prime elite level but he's still outperforming Max right now

‘Better’ for maybe one year isn’t enough isn’t enough to even come close to considering such a trade off, though

Sure. All I'm saying is that if I had to pick only one of them for the 2026 season, I'd pick Tom Stewart

I don't think if we got Stewart in 2026 we'd win a flag anyway, because he would be coached by Nicks, not Scott

Well given I think every team would take him, I think he’s still quality.
Hes still one of the first picked in the 2nd best team in the comp.
But of course his best is past past him at age 32, I don’t know anyone that’s trying to argue against.

If Finbar is in the side we're in strife.

We've picked some weird direct opponents for Keane imho

Treating him like he's the Tom Lonergan of our defence instead of the Matthew Scarlett.

Nick Murray should play on the tall, deep No 1 threats.
Keane looked better with Butts in the side.

Anyone remember Max moving forward and kicking 3 goals? The kid is a gun, and plays for the jumper. Trading him is one of the worst takes you could have.
Against a Richmond side that put up about as much fight as the Liberal Party in the last federal election.

He's not a forward as the disastrous showing against Collingwood showed. Not his fault our coaches are morons.

His direct opponent was a damn good player in Vlastuin, though

It’s Moreso that Nicks didn’t have the foresight to see that Fly would move Daicos into the middle, making the matchup pointless

Telegraphing that we were going to play Max forward 10 days before the game was a real masterstroke I thought.

I wouldn't dismiss him playing forward based on that game, he was VERY underdone.

That said i wouldn't be doing it often at all.
