Having someone on the hook could further explain why we're seemingly prepared to make all of our veterans wait until the end of the season before making a decision on their playing future.

I specifically highlight all as the form of Elliott, Sidebottom, Howe, Mihocek and Pendlebury has been to a level so far that would indicate a contract for 2026 has been earned on current performance and not past heroics.

IF we make this a premiership year. Will our veterans want to

• sign for less $ to bring in another key piece and a chance at another cup
• retire as multiple premiership players

I don't think its a money issue in bringing someone in. But we just dont have the trade currency and given our draft ties, we can't afford to give away any currency either. So kinda have hands tied behind our backs in a sense. Unless DC leaves...

He's contracted so I'd be holding onto him in any case.

In and of itself, yes absolutely, but if we have Draper or ROB lined up as a replacement through FA that would soften the blow and potentially allow us to go and source Rowell or Butters. I want to stress potentially though.

He was awesome at Half Back last year and really good through the middle.

Very creative with alot of X Factor.

Had no preseason and played as a fwd this year which has seen him really struggle.
