Rowell because he has more seasons ahead of him.
But in every other way I love watching Trac as a player.
A real leader.
I wish we had a shot at recruiting him years ago.

Also think a Rowell compliments just a little bit better Nick D, gets his knees a bit dirtier and youth on his side will give us longer service, although Trac is no slouch in a contest either but does it differently. Between the 2 for the age diff I’d go Rowell.
I think neither will be at pies personally, if Tracca was ever coming he missed his chance.

A genuine big bodied contested inside beast that feeds Nick imo is a big need.

Riley Onley trained with us in december and he is continuing to train with our vfl side this year, as its closer to where he is living; even though he is linked with murray bushrangers and vic country. The club thought it would be easier
He's now about 196cm big bodied mid.

We can’t afford to trade for those two, especially when you have LDU and Richard’s as free agents

What would a perfect 2025 off-season look like?

• Pendles plays on for one more year with some development/VFL coaching in order to break games record and attempt b2b.

• LDU / Richards as FA.

• Trade F1 for SDK with some points coming back for McGuane.

• McGuane performs highly this year but slides in the draft due to his size and abundance of mids, allowing us another earlyish pick.

• Condon comes to us in May/June and builds an AFL body between then and March 2026.

• Rather than delisting, we are able to trade a few guys like AJ or Dean and get something small in return.

Way too early for this.
We have a flag to win.

Or you make that trade for an A grader who does only have 2-5 years in him, on the basis they pay some of his salary?
Let’s be serious here. Melbourne don’t want to get rid of Petracca, so they aren’t going to agree to pay any of his salary.

Having already lost one star halfback, Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley is hopeful his club will manage to re-sign Miles Bergman in the coming months.

The 23-year-old has been firmly linked to a move back to Victoria, and after choosing to put contract talks on hold, it’s understood Victorian clubs are confident he’s gettable in 2025.

Now that we have Houston, Bergman not really a pressing need unless he can play a different role as a lockdown defender or a wing

But Butters would be an amazing get, if he can iron out those inconsistent games he’d be better than he currently is.

But either way, if we Luka Doncic’d Port two years running they may burn down Alberton

He's a FA end of next year, Butters.

While we’re at it we’ll finally get hold of the Bont through FA. Chuck a late Rd pick GC’s way for Humphrey because you know we help them sell out a game every year. Lastly Weitering is walking away from his contract because Princess Park is a shithole and he’s signing for $400k pa for the love of the jumper.

I’d settle for Richards, finding another KPD to confidently settle into our best 23 as perfect myself and a full pre-season out of JDG.

Like Houston, we surely need to do everything possible to make this happen should the opportunity arise
I Read somewhere Geelong are circling.

Surely sooner rather than later Mackie’s Dodoro-esque trading catches up with them. Ie Clubs/Managers steering players who care about their old clubs being fairly compensated away from there.

The short term win-now mentality with trades has a way of catching up with you. Or theoretically should do at least…

Geelong can give Butters the farm they had pegged for Oliver.

I also wouldn't discount Reid to the Hawks.

Geelong circling for butters but will wait until he is a free agent and out of contract.
This is like the 100th time I've heard such strong comments about Geelong and Butters. Where has this come from and why is everyone so sure? Butters has no previous link to the Geelong area as far as I know and didn't even barrack for them as a kid.
