Dean seems to be hitting his ceiling
Smit only just learning
Long way to go but I thought he showed some pretty good signs and certainly more intent, physicality and urgency

Smit needs to develop in the VFL for the remainder of this season and next. Looks to have that word, potential, but is a long way off senior AFL footy. His disposal by foot in particular needs developing, especially if we're turning him into a key back...

Yep
Not saying he plays this year
Just encouraged by his game yesterday and possibly finding a position

Petracca looks like he's playing AFL footy because he has a contract and is obligated too, but not really enjoying the game. He seems frustrated, and like he's saying to himself "what the hell am l doing here".
Maybe a change of environment is what he needs to rekindle the love for the game and get back to his ultimate best.
I think if Petracca was given the option of going onto Masterchef or playing another season of AFL, he would pick Masterchef!!

2 Things badly we need to Chase are:

Mature Age KPD as have no depth in that Position

Inside Mid that can win Clearances as we Struggling in that Area

I doubt we're turning him into a key back. Good position to improve his aerial contests and game reading which needs significant improvement and we've got two preferred rucks in the team.

We actually won the clearances last night.

I’d only take Trac now if the price was more reasonable

Trac too nice for cooking shows - I know a couple who were on one recently - those shows are a pit of sh#te and would make the Dees culture seen like a wellness retreat in the Sunshine Coast hinterland

I still want Harley Reid. His inside/outside game is to die for. I don't think he's anywhere near his ceiling
He needs to pull his head in and work on his consistency and ability to accumulate, because as it stands he’s currently a high impact sub 20 disposal player and while that’s a nice type to have it doesn’t match the hype, contract offers or trade currency that’s being thrown around in regards to him.

We can try getting jake lever. He is still a talented defender, quite possible he has mentally checked out of Melbourne. Would be a good replacement for howe and would give us some more time to find and develop our future key position defenders.
Would a pick come with him in this scenario. He’s an intercept defender not a bona fide KPP. He’s checked and not performing, or will he ever regain his form? I think Melbourne will be keen to get his salary off their books. So player and a late first round pick ought to do it. Otherwise no thanks

Watch us botch any attempt. Grundy got traded to them and we retained part of his salary, he was still tipping in and wanted to stay at Collingwood. Petracca seemingly wants to leave and is also off the mark performance wise…so by that metric we get him and Melbourne retain 25% of his salary?

Just quietly.... I would take a serious look at Jack Silvagni. Always competes and gives his best and I'm sure he's sick of losing and is a free agent.

I reckon he would get back to his early career form with us and be a great addition. Certainly worth a look

All that and you end with us giving up a player and a first rounder. Jesus 😂😂😂 No thanks.
