As an NDIS recipient myself your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated. Particularly when it’s something that you’d probably prefer not to do… watch Carlton.

I am also on the NDIS I appreciate my Support Worker taking me to Collingwood Games VFL and AFL. He is a Collingwood Fan as well

Great Job manicpie that you do

He's a great bloke, it's a pleasure working with him
My son is on the NDIS and I don’t appreciate your work at all.

Jks 😘

For that to happen then Trac would have to fall off a cliff this year and turn in to what would essentially be a salary dump. Outside of that, I don’t see Melbourne letting him go for anything close to a reasonable trade, even if it is in the best interests of all parties.
I think his move to part ways with Connors sports will make it next to impossible for him to move unless the Dees are “fairly compensated” because it essentially rules out the pressure they can exert from the management merry go round. Take Port folding on Houston who do we think is going to be front and centre for NWM now? I don’t think it happens, but if there’s a scenario where it can then we have to explore it even if it costs us McGuane or more likely one of Lonie or McCarthy.

Apparently James Worpel very gettable this year as a free agent

Would he be a good fit for our midfield?

He's an interesting one. Wins a lot of contested footy, decent clearance-winner, but not a great tackler and isn't very big. Still in his prime though

Whats your thoughts on building around Naicos and the types we need?

Would Worpel complement Nick nicely ? Been something that's big in my mind that we should be looking for types to really complement his playstyle.

I think Worpel would be good alongside Nick (and Perryman, Long, Allan and others). He's very tough and hard at it, and his kicking took a significant step forward last season. He was huge for Hawthorn last year in a slightly more refined role - he is not the butcher he used to be, and adds some edge. I think he'd help Nick insofar as being a first hands to the footy type who can get it to Nick in space, but similarly has the flexibility to do his own damage.

I think with the age profile of our midfield (Pendlebury & Sidebottom are 3rd and 4th in centre bounce attendance for us respectively) we should focus on talent acquisition in general first and foremost. Getting Worpel as a FA would be great, although I think Hawthorn rate him highly internally.

I think Perryman will be a fixture of our midfield for a long time, alongside Nick. Josh can pinch hit there too, as can Lipinski. De Goey and Crisp have been playing outside of the centre, but I wouldn't have any doubt that they can return to roles there. If Long and Allan keep developing well (or even just Long, given he's contracted for a couple of years), and McGuane can come in as a skilled outside player, then I think we'd be well situated with a group next year of.

Core: N Daicos, Perryman, Worpel, Long
Outgoing*: Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Crisp, Mitchell
Upcoming: Allan, McGuane
Pinch-hitters: De Goey, J Daicos, Lipinski, Harrison/McCreery (?)
VFL depth: the Sullivans of the world

*not in 2026 necessarily, but over the coming few years.

TLDR: I think Worpel would complement Nick nicely

I think we need someone more dynamic because ATM, Nick is being tagged heavily. Jordy is the ideal partner because they would have to tag 2 players. Long and Perryman are capable of being Nicks protector but we need another midfielder that gets the oppositions attention

I think he stays at the Hawks IMO

They have a long jam of talented midfielders Day, Duke, Nash, Mackenzie, Ward, and the Worp himself and Hustwaite

Day, Duke and Nash have been the main 3 since he’s been injured

I think Worpel made a big leap last season in damage with his disposal. His kicking I50 was pretty good last season, and he broke lines. He gets less of the footy recently, but I think he's become pretty solid.

Obviously not Rowell/LDU type star, but I think if we can't lure an upcoming young gun like Humphrey across then Worpel would be good (assuming he doesn't cost an arm + leg).

Worpel at the right price is a very good option. We aren't in a position to knock back serious talent. I'd love for Jordy to be up and about with both Nick and Worpel.

Darcy Cameron is set for a bumper pay rise regardless of where he plays next year, with the premiership ruckman still keen to remain at the Pies.

Cameron will play his 100th AFL game this weekend and is clearly underpaid given he will earn less than $600,000 even if he hits some games-based triggers.

Cameron was hopeful he had done enough with his second placing in the Copeland Trophy last year to win a new long-term extension that was more reflective of his value.

But with that deal not forthcoming despite early assurances from Collingwood, rivals continue to emerge for his services by the week.

He is keen to stay and try to win another premiership at the Pies so is hopeful Collingwood will come to the party on a new deal more reflective of his worth.

West Coast, Carlton and St Kilda have been mentioned as interested parties depending on the future of Tom De Koning.

Footy’s most highly paid ruckmen are all on $800,000 plus, including Max Gawn, Tom De Koning, Luke Jackson, Sean Darcy, Brodie Grundy and Tim English.

And with clubs believing Cameron is worth $900,000 a year, negotiations will take some time to warm up this season.

Cameron has some incredible numbers in his first four weeks of the season.

In the past decade only six other Pies have had more contested possessions in the first four weeks of the year.

He has had 53 contested possessions and averaged three intercept marks a year, No.1 of all ruckman across the league.

I reckon he’s going to have to accept less than 800k to stay.

600k-700k would be a good amount I'd say. I would like to think he'll stay. But he does deserve a payrise than what he is currently on.

Something with a 7 in front I reckon.

He’s in AA form and has made the squad before Jen. I think you are seriously undervaluing him with anything with a 6.
