Depends if it’s player or club-driven.

If it’s player-driven, I'm afraid he’ll cost at least two first-rounders.

If it’s club-driven, I don't expect the Dogs to receive much.

So Matt Rowell has spoken to Geelong. I hope we are knee deep in chasing him as well. If he is unhappy and has decided to weigh up his options, we should be front and centre. If we play the GF, win lose or draw, we should be a strong contender.

If he chooses Geelong you just know that GC will offer him up for a second rounder and throw in their future first as a sweetener.

Never seen a club gift their opposition at the trade table like GC do with Geelong.

Rowell still has 2 years to go with his current contract. We'd need to find a couple of top draft picks to trade if we want him at the end of this year. Better strategy to keep finding free agents that won't cost picks -just need to be 'creative' with the offered contract. Surely we must be into Ed Richards. Perfect age for us and a top player -not to mention his family connections.
