No doubt he can play, I just don't think he would fit into our "good people" recruiting and club mantra. Happy to be proven wrong but its not normal to put on your backside by two teammates at two different teams. Throw in the Gawn moment at Kings birthday and its just a lot of red flags to me. But as I said, happy to be proven wrong.
We just need a basement to house him and only bring him out on match days.

He can play - and he'd cost nothing. Would be interesting to see if he had the minerals to have a go at Bruzzy.
He can play but is his toxic personality worth the potential disruptions cause to the player group?
Tipping he’d quickly go 3/3 in club to punch-in-the-face ratio.

Riley on gettable mentioned talks should start on new deals for Steene and Smit over the next few weeks.
Cox wants to go on, but its a wait and see.
We are tight on list spots and $$

What’s even worse is the grown men in the crowd wearing wizard hats 😳.
If your over 18 and doing that you should slap your own face and kick your own ass at the same time.

May had his chance to come to Collingwood? Bad luck.

I do love watching him play though.

I can tell you how…
“We just went to the top of our list…”

Cornes is the hindsight wunderkind.
His 'content' is now becoming a joke. Should probably reduce his media commitments - quality over quantity.

Zero would be ideal.

So we are enquiring on Bont, chasing Rowell and tight on $$

Something doesn’t add up

He even said we likely would have back ended maynard's contract because of it.
You'd think some money would be freed up on some vets (mitchell/cox?) possibly not going on.

I can’t see how our cap situation would be tight. List spots yes, salary no unless we have a mystery millionaire.

We’ve stopped paying or are stopping payments to Adz and Grundy.

We’ve got a third of our best 22 as oldies on short term contracts with vet payments outside of the cap.

We’ve got some of our bigger contracts signed before the new tv rights were negotiated eg Moore, Jordy or as very reasonable acquisitions eg McStay and Schultz. All would look unders based on current cap.

We’ve got two of our best players and certainly peak age best players in Nick and Josh signed for unders at reportedly 1.1m and 700k.

So that leaves last year’s signings and this year’s re-signing as the only other significant ones. Houston, Perryman, Bobby, Bruzzy and likely soon Cameron. None on 1m+ and none on more than 6 years deal.

You would think if we’re supposedly tight and need to backend Bruzzy’s contract it’s because we are leaving room for the supposed ‘big fish’. This year or next.

Sounds like Riley is adding 2+2 and getting 5

I'll stop you here.
This is not a thing anymore. Its all in the cap. Only thing thats outside the cap is a portion of the Cat B

Nice. Must have been stuck on pre Covid years. Though regardless with most of them out of contract it has such a small impact on our cap situation. And for some of them let’s be honest either other clubs will not sign them for more than a year either, or they won’t want to be bothered learning the ropes of a new system and coach. It gives us the upper hand in negotiating contract length and $.

When most clubs are throwing around 7-9y contracts and 1m+ contracts like hot cakes because the new cap has created room for it, and we’ve stayed reasonable, I just don’t see the point Gettable was trying to make on our cap being true.

Please. Nobody saw him as a first rounder. You can blame everyone in that case lol
It was only when the second round started that clubs saw him in that bracket.
he makes a good point about having five picks and not taking that key forward

You are describing an option, not a trigger. Think about the meaning of the word, it’s not just the name of a horse.

As far as I am aware, options aren’t part of the afl player contract scene. Not sure, but I think they might not be allowed.

And don’t call me Shirley.
basically retiring players can earn a player option if they trigger an extension they can choose not to take it, not sure why one wouldn't but thats as close as we have to that as far as I know
