Just on JSOS, if we decided to use decide not to bring in a key defender and rely on Reef, we'll look pretty depleted if Reef fails. Reef could easily go back to playing a forward role and JSOS would fill in that defender role. Howe is 35, JSOS is 27 and Reef will be 23 this December. JSOS and Reef have years ahead of them, we should be planning for next year, we should be planning every year until at least 2030. Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Ultimately I’m not anti a move on Silvagni what I am anti is the carryon like he’s Bruce bloody Doull and it just screams Levi Greenwood to me where a guy cashed in on a career year. Before we all get hysterical I’m not referencing you three with those comments rather the collective who only a week ago barely registered Silvagni as an option and here we are…

Someone please convince me that Silvagni isnt a one season wonder? Slow as treacle, so you could never ever play him on anyone with the slightest athleticism. 8 seasons of fringe playing mediocracy. 1 season of decent footy

Stop and think for a minute about our club, its program, and making players like Billy Frampton one of the most important players of our team, and how that is achievable. Our system and club is the most elite of the elite, and if the club is chasing him they know what they can get out of him, he would be much different in our system, because we are able to work with what players can do, and now worry about what they can't do. It would appear Howe may retire at years end, either way as an UFA you have to take the free hit and take the risk.

I agreed with you at start of season but he coped well on a variety of opponents in defence this year. And his kicking was top shelf
And I always thought he was a dud.
His groin injury would be the main concern for me

We are a good club at developing players but also look at Houston. It’s not a given that players will perform better in our system.

I do think Silvagni is very close to what Murphy was and he obviously played a really crucial role for us, so I suspect Silvagni would integrate well.

I would point out that unlike Silvagni, Billy at least had genuine KP size so had potential to match up on big gorillas vs Silvagni who is smallish and slowish for KP. But your point remains. I thought Billy was a dud when recruited, and he has done a job for us...

Hes nearly playing that Roughy role of a few years back of a lock down defender who you dont notice until they make the odd error. Hes getting better all the time though. Will be vital against Adelaide and GWS with Thilthorpe and Hogan. Premiership FF to FB

Great point. Framp was a meme during his time in the SA clubs, he was getting fined for flipping the bird in the SANFL

I think we still have high hopes for Reef and Tew so another experienced head while we’re balancing staying in contention is a good option especially if it’s a FA

To me this feels far more like a Tim Membrey. Which is to say, supporters are more than excited about the possibility of getting a really handy pick up for "free".

Great numbers in the VFL after a long layoff, and under wet conditions. If he continues to build it becomes a tricky decision given our aging midfield.
