I suspect that’s actually the state of play with Harley. I think he’s that first wave of true mercenary gun for hire type who’ll literally play for whoever is prepared to pay him the most.

Look the guy will be ****ing good, but he’ll be cancer to club culture. You pay this one guy that much and how are you building a premiership list? Everyone else playing for huge unders to accommodate him?

Gieschan is along for the ride because he doesn’t give a shit about WC being successful so long as he’s getting paid he’s happy.

What I can’t wrap my head around though is the punters on here that want him at Collingwood! He lacks self awareness and self discipline so he’s the last guy we’d be interested in.

Well the skipper has met with Hawthorn and has one foot out the door to Brisbane so I doubt they’re that well connected

McCarthy might cost a fair bit, but I don't think Tom will. That's not saying that Tom isn't a good prospect, but he's gone up a level in the Championships and VFL and hasn't shone.
