I think one or two of Corr, Logue, Scott and Phillips will end up elsewhere. Corr or Logue wouldn’t be bad depth in a better system than ours imo.

They’ll get bugger all on the trade table though.

Issue is, replacing players like that with kids impacts our depth, which as shown on the weekend, is pretty terrible.
Logue is still getting fit from all his injuries. Every week he does a bit better than the week before.

As good as Butters is, do we really need to chuck $2m pa at another small mid?

He ain't no Dawson from the Crows or Rankine or someone fast/skilful/non-squib

True. The one thing he’d do is actually show some freakin ticker in our midfield which we desperately need! Plus, he’d walk in and be Captain from day 1.

This team is crying out for someone to strut into the club, feathers out, and say "follow me, or **** off!"

Logue i could see at another club, but id definitely rather keep him at this point.

I dont see Corr getting an opportunity elsewhere. Same with Scott, who will probably just retire and focus on studies/professional career.

Phillips hasn't done himself any disservice in recent weeks. I wouldn't be against keeping him, but i think it will be unlikely he wants to stay.

Agree with this. I’ve given up on Scott, Corr, KDawson and John Coleman Jones.

But Logue’s best is very good and I hold out hope it is fitness/body based and he can get back there.

I'd be concerned with Butters' motivations if he was prepared to be traded here
Maybe he has a thing for a Clarko serenade?

The seven delistings/departures i currently have are:

Eddie Ford
Miller Bergman
Will Phillips (Trade, door ajar for him to stay)
Cooper Trembath
Brynn Teakle (May be substituted for CCJ now)
Darcy Tucker
Kallan Dawson

I'm disappointed that we haven't found a good use for Ford. He has a lot of ability.
He's the wrong player type for us unfortunately. Strong-ish in the air, medium height, not brilliant at covering the ground. We're trying to catch all the players who tick that attribute box, it seems

Am I alone in thinking anyone offering a ruckman coming off an Achilles a long term $1M a year contract (to trigger first round compo) is insane?

Or is the dude that reports crowd numbers deciding the compo?
What? Is that actually what he's been offered? Draper isn't worth that.
I could understand a team paying 750-800k like Crows to get him back home.
But given he's an unrestricted FA, other teams don't really have to break the bank unless they weirdly want to.

It really depends how brutal we want to be. We could move on Corr, Fisher and Scott, but we need to balance keeping some depth around in case of injuries and/or giving some young guys more time to develop.

Bergman
Tucker
CCJ vs Teakle (r)
Ford
Kal Dawson (r)
Scott (trade)
Payne (r)
Phillips? (retain or he seeks a trade)

Corr? Contracted so they'll probably keep him, but have the conversation if he has the desire at 31.
Fisher? Contracted so unlikely they pay him out and Scott may want out. Needs a better year or gone end of 2026.
Trembath? 19 years old. I think he gets another 12 months, shown he can clunk them but kicking is a concern

What do you mean by (r) here?

We need to get ruthless here to trim our list down as we are losing the two rookie spots.

Fisher is contracted until end of 2027, which is just horrific from Brady.

Jack Riewoldt raising on footy classified we should throw the kitchen sink at Pendlebury for next year.

This is basically stating that the older heads we have bought in over previous years hasnt worked.

Its an indictment on Brady that we are where we are. Id say the only senior heads that have moved the needle in recent years are Parker, Darling and Shiels. Big misses on Fisher, Daniel, Greenwood, Howe etc

Greenwood was ok, we managed that badly.
