Have to go back to Waitey and Higgo to find anyone who improved at North after arriving from another club. Every other bloke we pick up goes backwards at a rapid rate of knots.

Been saying for a while, key forward is the biggest hole and yet they keep selecting swingmen who look best as defenders.

Mids or flaky flankers. These ********* have ignored key position players at the top end of the draft and wonder why we are shithouse in both arcs.

Logue was good before he did knee. Better than the player we got pick three for in the same side.

Tucker did exactly what we got him in for and what the compo was for - gave us a professional mature body. While he wasn't brilliant he was worth a future third that wasn't really ours to begin with.

Considering he is a FA and he has a shit tonne of leadership I’d be going hard after him. Don’t care about the concussions.

Starcevich, then get Connor Budarick on the cheap, and our mid defenders all of a sudden look far better.

Then focus on talls and outside run in the draft.

Another to target cheap is Hugh bond
Only just go back into crows side but is a good lockdown small defender out of contract

He got divorced and his wife moved back to Adelaide with the kids so he had to take a job here to see them

Despite what happened at Carlton last year, I reckon Andrew Russell would be a good get for us.

Was impressed with him reading the "Sacked" articles a couple of weeks ago. Managed to get Hodge and Cyril up for Grand Finals from difficult injuries and got Stuey Dew from obesity to minimum AFL fitness in a few months. He also stressed the importance of building the mind as well as the body, which is also very important for us given our mental frailties.

A few months ago I had Payne as a likely delisting and stubbornly thinking Phillips would be retained. If we have to change over 7 spots, I think the following would be on the chopping block:
Tucker
Bergman
K Dawson
1 of Teakle or CCJ (or both if we have an eye on an upgrade)
Ford (sadly)
Phillips (sadly)
Scott (retiring?)

With that in mind, we’d have 5 spots. Two to make up for the MSD we took, 3 for draft and 2 for trades.

Looks like one trade is ear marked for a defender (Lever / Starcevich) which leaves either targeting a mid such as Davies or a key forward like Gruzeski or Riccardi. Key forward is the biggest need but midfield depth is pretty horrific as we’ve seen in the two’s. Maybe cut both rucks, and have Maley and Goad as the cover?

Yeah same. The delistings are all on the assumption that both Trembath and Banch get another year.

If we have to keep one, CCJ over Teakle. But I'd prefer we ditch both and get a legitimate state league ruck as back up.
