Only name that was mentioned to me yesterday specifically about trades was Phillips, but I was also told that Tucker was gone and there was a strong chance Bailey Scott was too. None of those three were named in today's delisting, so putting two-and-two together...
do gold coast have any decent wingers?

bailey scott might be of use there

straight swap him for alex davies or budarick

AFL is a weird sport in terms of how player rights and contracts work.

Will Phillips does not have a contract for next season, but is also not a free agent.

So the club can either de-list him (like they did with four other players today), and for Phillips to continue his AFL journey he'd have to nominate for the rookie draft again this year. Then he's available to be selected by any club.

or

The club can work with Phillips' manager about trying to facilitate a trade that gets him to a preferred destination so he has some level of say about where he ends up.
If Phillips is delisted he automatically becomes a DFA and can be picked up without having to go through the draft.

ccj was/is out of contract but reports he was offered a year extension that he is considering. personally iam surprised he didnt bite the hand off the bloke offering the contract in haste to sign.

You'd think so, but maybe there's a chance he'll pack it in?

Mate of mine was chatting to him around the start of the year and coming back from the achilles was hard yakka. Maybe breaking down in the 1's immediately after returning was enough?

ordinarily i would agree however practically speaking we would just sign some other cloggers in their spots, its like whack a mole sadly,
At least there is hope that new ones would be better. These ones we already know aren't up to it

Phillips trade would be a non-event. Any club interested would only offer a 4th-rounder or less if he's not being offered a contract. They can just pick him up as a delisted FA or get him with a late pick in the draft.

If there's two clubs vying for him (which I've heard there is 'interest' from two clubs) that at least drives his price up somewhat.

But in general, you're correct.

Is WC one? That was the talk a little while back

I didn't get confirmation/insight on the specific clubs, but I'd bet money West Coast is one, yeah.

Silvagni chooses to exercise free agency option

Jack Silvagni has informed Carlton he wishes to depart as a free agent.

could we be a sneaky chance, would have more money to offer than anyone else

Lets be serious though.

When you're saying it drives the prices up somewhat, the most we could really expect is in the realm of pick 55 to pick 45.

The most likely scenario is that North just let him go to his preferred club for whatever they're prepared to offer.

He knows he isn't winning a flag at Carlton. The rat is jumping ship.

After what he said about us years ago, screw him.

By my count, we started with two players over the maximum list size, thanks to the Bergman and Goater LTIs.

Today we lost two from the main list and another two from the rookie list.

But we still need room for the compulsory three kids from the draft.

So at a minimum, that means one more trade/delist, provided another player is shifted to the rookie list.

That’s assuming none of our trade targets come off, and the AFL doesn’t remove the two extra rookie spots we’ve been carrying.

Unless we can get North Melbourne to bite they always pay up lol

Edit: oops thought I was posting on another board
