Yep. You'd think he'd head to a contender first before considering us, but perhaps more competition at Dogs perhaps.

That leaves Rory Lobb, who'll be 33 before next season, James O'Donnell, a very green Busslinger, and VFL-standard Ryan Gardiner.

Obviously didn't watch their mob that closely but the stats I can find are:

Young: 2.4 intercept marks and 5 intercept possessions per game
Blight: 1.6 intercept marks and 3.3 intercept possessions per game

Young: 4/15 1 on 1s lost: 27%
Blight: 2/10 1 on 1s lost: 20%

Young: 3.7 spoils per game
Blight: 3.7 spoils per game

Both played 7 games. No overlap. Young 2-5, Blight 1-6.

I just suffered through the last five pages of Blight's player thread on the Richmond board so you don't have to.

The overwhelming consensus seems to be:

• he has a severe inability to follow direction
• not well-liked by the playing group or the coaches
• slow
• unskilled
• lacks grit

Tylar Young didn't shy away from taking on one of the AFL's greats, Buddy Franklin last Thursday night.

He also finished the year quite well.

Of the last ten games by all key defenders in the comp, Young had the #1 metres gained and the 11th highest contested marks. Pretty decent for a cheap pickup.

I don't think Richmonds are gonna see him as a cheap pick-up lol. Just saw that he did his ACL last year ie. he's a valued player who plays when fit
