He's shown a bit. Not as much as Ca..... nah, I won't.

But, seriously, he's a raw player but he's not super skilled as a kick. Excellent pack mark and decent tackler.

He’s a seriously impressive contested mark, a substandard kick, and not a great footy IQ.

I wouldn’t mind keeping him for another year to see whether the latter two points improve. Easy either way.

We have done a lot of early work and been in his ear for a while.

Yes. There was a group at the time called the van halen mailing list. This was before internet forums - everyone just got cc'd via email the messages. Eddie Van Halen's then wife was (not so) secretly a member of the group too. The tour manager gave tickets/passes to the few Aussies on the list. Sammy Hagar did a solo tour a couple of months later.
