Caleb Daniel is also an All Australian, premiership player as well. But that was in the past and certainly not consistent with the player he is today. The same applies for Jake Lever.

How have our non All Australian + Premiership defence of Lmac, Corr, Tucker and K Dawson been the last 3 years?

I know trading in a Harris Andrews, Darcy Moore or Tom Stewart to teach Comben, Wil Dawson etc would be much better than a Jake Lever, but come on. We all know that's not happening.

Waite came as an FA, Lever would cost an arm and a leg and has been on quite a rapid decline over the past 12-18 months.

They ain't the same.

If lever was an FA I'd be fine with it, but if he is costing us draft capital and he has a whole host of injury concerns (knees, ankle and concussion history) I'm not sure it makes much sense.

Jake Lever is currently struggling to hold his spot in a team with team-mates and a game plan he is very familiar with.

How's he going to go with us learning a new game plan in a team that leaks inside 50's like no other?

Many of us would have had bullish hopes on Logue when he first came to us because at the time, he was an "upgrade on all of our defenders". How's he going today?

I'm done with offering superannuation funds to has beens who are just wanting to pad out their careers for a few extra years. I think we'd be much better off investing the time into Wil Dawson and Whitlock.

Jumping on the end of the thread so sorry if it’s been brought up already, but how nice the AFL is looking at free agents being able to go to lower clubs without any penalty if that club is losing a free agent. Would have been a handy tweak a couple of years ago.

Its easy to paper over the cracks when you are playing in a top 4 side your whole career.

When the going has got tough this year....

I'd still have him ahead of Jy. Better skills, which we are sorely lacking

He'd be the most talented player in the side by miles. And I mean miles!!!!

In terms of actual talent, if Waite was a 10/10, then the next best would be Curtis I suppose. And he'd be a 7/10 at best.
Don't ask me how many of the current list would be less than a 5/10. I don't wanna know.

I think its about time that the AFL puts in place a clause that states that" Any player (except for those who are a FA) who wishes for a trade to another club can only go to a club that is sitting 14th or below"..This is the only way l see of helping the lower clubs improve.

it’s an interesting one isn’t it. High draft picks lots of midfielders - similar model to that at gws, and they’ve got some inside bulls, but if you listen to hoyney and kingy they are counter punching.

Leak a lot of i50s spend most of the game in your own back half, and have elite 1v1 defenders that are aerial and aerobically gifted to go the other way. Plus their half forwards work hard as **** up the ground.

Our defenders are puss, our mids don’t run back and help and our half forwards don’t defend.

Lever has runs on the board, Logue didn’t.

I agree with bleeding games into Dawson and Whitlock but you can’t throw them to the wolves. Which one of those two is going to nullify Jesse Hogan or Jeremy Cameron?
