We completely stuffed up the Ben Brown trade there's no denying that, this is very different though, if Jy does ask for a trade we're in a much better position.
I'm not confident we can execute it properly.

Should pay a consultancy fee to Gubby or someone to do the deal.

We are, but we can still screw up the trade giving away information to the public that they do not need to know about. Like if we came out and said Jy is dead to us and there is no way back for him... then we are going to get screwed, again.

I think we're better than that now, we'll come out and say; Jy is our Captain and a valued member of the team and a required player, in other words, we'll let him go for the right price.

I'll help Gonzo out, just cut n' past this, mate.

Jy is a valued member of the North Melbourne Football club.
He is contracted for another four years.
We are aware Jy would like to play more midfield time but we really value him as a pressure forward and have been sucking top 5 picks like a black hole and have been recruited nothing but midfielders so we are comfortable to play him as a forward for the next four years and expect Jy to be a professional and honour his contract.
That being said, if there is another club that can offer him more midfield time and can provide us an offer we think is worth Jy's value to our club then we will consider it.

Tas, Gonzo just contacted me thanking you for the transcript . Just one thing he just wanted to know how to cut and paste lol

I hope so, I am generally worried about our trading in general. Clubs are pretty much taking us to the deadline even for players they do not want because Rawlings buckles in the end.

The fact we haven't brought in someone who is a good negotiator fills me with concern.

I would include some of our own fans in your post as well. Me not being one of them as i rate him higher than a few on here.
I rate him too and would prefer he stays.

Odd sprayed kick aside, he runs both ways, can tackle, is versatile, is very fit, puts in a lot of repeat efforts and can take a strong mark for his size. Would get a game at any club.

Clubs would rate Jy higher than most oppo fans.
If he does want out and is angling for a move we definitely have the power in negotiations. He won't be short of interest and is contracted for another 4 years.

We aren't the ones request he pisses off when he is captain and has four years left on the deal, don't blame the fans.

it is true, last week i did say I would drive him to interviews... don't blame all the other fans...

Got drafted at the start of the shitness and been through it all, Shaw, noble, Clarko hawf scandal multiple 100+ losses. He's 28 next year and probably got 4-5 years left so I don't blame him on that front but there is clearly a lack of buy in from him going foward. If he was 100% committed to the club he wouldn't really care if mid minutes are cut and plays half foward/wing starting pine rotation, this mid minutes sook seems like a perfect excuse to bail to a club playing finals as the blow back would be less. The whole golf thing almost confirms it

Seriously, clubs should just tell these players a hard NO...you want out, buyout your contract and be a free agent or play here for the reminder of your contract.
Then you get "I don't want to play here"..no problems, sit out of football - that will reinforce a contract again!!

Until a club has the nuts to do the above or are allowed to trade contract players, player managers will keep playing this card!

Completely different scenario, we withdrew our offer to Brown so we weren't in a position to negotiate. Jy is a contracted player who will potentially ask for a trade, we hold the upper hand.
and also Clubs knew his knee issues so were never going to trade us a 1st rder! Irrelevant of what Bigfooty thought he was worth

If he stays, could be a blessing in disguise. Might perform better with less pressure. I just can’t get past his kicking though!
It looked like the pressure of being captain was getting to him in those post-game interviews.
He looked a bit mentally drained having to front up again and again after big losses.
So whilst midfield time is probably what he's after, a fresh change might be part of it too.

Feel like though the front person has always been Harry !
