Think AFL will take into account, not that they should, that they already have 2 first round picks, some sort of 2 or 3 first round pick package coming for Merrett - also Draper was a rookie pick, has no accolades, doubt the contract is huge. Think it will be end of first round and that’s fairly generous.

It's all a shit show. The idea of compo picks penalizing everyone else. Giving multiple top 10 picks to finals sides. Giving the reigning premier a top 5 pick two years in a row.

Unless they agree to clubs having trading rights to players and players salaries to be made public then no more salary increases. Endure a players strike for a season if necessary. The fabric of the game is already eroded with theses player managers shopping their clients around while under contracts, some long term.
What happened to tampering rules..oh that's right there is no AFL anti-tampering rules just anti-tanking rules so it's ok for the Mitchell's of this world to have a sit down with Merrett and discuss a trade, FMD, if this was the NBA Mitchell or Hawthorn could be heavily fined, Merrett could be fined, draft picks could be forfeited even FA signings void.
