This is why Gold Coast could give less than two shits about giving those picks away today.

Look at this kid

**** I hope West Coast bid to at least make them pay the maximum

So after just losing to GC, the reality is that they have improved immensely from 2025.
We have added McVee, so how do we even stay relevant?
Add the travel, and the WA football commission handbrake with no additions off the field?
You can put a line through us next year too, please give me something to smile about.
The game is being ruined by its masters unless you are spared from the whip.

next paddy Dow

OK so now trade period is done I am going to spend the next few weeks obsessing over which players we are going to draft.

I am starting with us taking Oudshoorn-Bennier with our first as a best available pick. I think we then dip into futures to upgrade pick 46 to grab Pickett. Follow that up with matching a bid on Whan. Grab Kickett in the rookoe draft. Luke as a cat B.

I think that would leave 1 rookie spot available and I would train on a couple of mature rucks and maybe another stand out player if one exists to fill it.
Reid building midfield time and O-B debuting forward.

I think we need to address the forward half and that’s what Walls indicated.
Wouldn’t be surprised we take a gamble
and bid on a WC NGA player.
I’d say small, medium forward/mid types.
Reid will eventually become a premier midfielder.
We just need to work on our deficiencies, tackling, pressure, gameplan plays.
Erasmus has to become that elite defensive mid, and a sprinting program
implemented.

Underwater training is what he needs.

Something like 7.40

I'd be happy running that time now, but if you wanted to put a positive spin on it - there's a huge room for improvement and growth in Ryda Luke's involvement in games given his clear shortfall in his tank.

Could be one of those sorts of players who thrive in a professional environment and brings a great talent out of a very late/speculative pick.

I agree. What rookie lists are for

Do we know what his 2km time trial was at the draft combine?

Am I correct in saying the big concern around him, is his commitment.
He's super quick, athletic but a tad introverted. IMO he's got the tools to be a good footballer, just needs to feel involved, a professional environment would benefit his type of personality. No commitment issues that i am aware of.

I want some mature age gun player. Milan Murdoch, or someone poached from VFL or SANFL. Probably 2 (1 main draft and 1 rookie) to round out the list. Peel can’t be uncompetitive like this year, stunts development.

We were rumoured to be interested in Lachlan Hosie.

He would help our forward line in Peel, if he played for Peel.

You’d want someone who could improve and crack the 22. Don’t know much about this guy. Milan I think could challenge someone like Switkowski / Frederick for a spot on the HFF. Is a workhorse, though undersized.

79 goals in the SANFL speaks for itself.

Probably plays as 4th tall in our team, which impacts Frederick a bit. Does not apply great pressure (probably his main weakness)

From reports, unbelievable skills but not sure he works hard enough. Not a bad option as a train on player.

Milan Murdock looks impressive. Back to back bnf's is always a good sign. My only question on him looking at the stats, is can he hit the scoreboard enough to make it as a half forward.

If his main role is to provide injury cover for Switta, then tackling is more important than scoreboard impact, both would of course be preferred and would have whoever we select challenging Dudley for Reid’s spot when he eventually moves into the middle.

He is a bit of a Bailey Fritsch / Paul Medhurst type.

I'm not sure he is a great fit when we already have Voss, JT, Jye and LJ / Darcy.

He’s exactly what we need, a dynamic mid size forward & we shouldn’t be playing those 5 at one time when their prime role is either forward or rotating forward.

He would provide what I think we hoped Sturt would maybe minus a little leg speed but with some added arseh*le and arrogance.
