I'm seeing Tyler Welsh among the leaders in marks on the SANFL site.
He actually looks fitter and serious about playing this season.

Probably needed the reality check of being delisted last year.

Yes, it was a List Management process. But he may now realise this is the one chance he has at playing AFL, and now putting in the work.

Welsh has been setback by injuries in his first couple of seasons..

Kid has some serious talent and was at stages touted as a possible no.1 draft pick in his draft year..

Hopefully he gets a good run at it. Lad has speed to burn, he’s seriously quick for his size, and has good skills. Could be anything.. big bodied mid/medium forward potential if he puts his mind to it and his body doesnt let him down.

Slow burn and should be given a few years on the list.

If we can keep spuds like mchenry, murphy, jones, davis, mackay and few others on the list for long periods.. then surely we can afford this kid some time to show his wares..
Cook is a good example of this.

A possible top 10 not 1. This is only his 2nd year, he was in poor shape at the start of last year and got himself back in much better shape mid season before getting a serious foot injury. Very encouraging to see he has continue on getting even fitter this year which has allowed him to get to more contest, has AFL attributes to develop into a forward like Stringer.

Every now and then in my wildest dreaks i see Jake Stringer. Probably will never happen but still.

He's a lot leaner and fitter, credit to him. However, by now it's clear that his junior form was based mainly on his big body vs. short people. The skills aren't there. His goal kicking used to be a feature, but that has gone: he really strains on long shots now which he managed a lot better when he was fat.

I agree with you that a Stringer type is his best scenario, given his newfound speed, but I fear that he is a low-skill type.
Perhaps, 1970crow was right all along? ;)

I wouldnt say low skill.

I would also say, hes effectively leading that forwardline now, and for a 3rd year SANFL player who's barely 20 thats a big ask.
