I bumped into Brady here. I was looking for used vinyl, he mentioned something about looking for key position players.

In all seriousness though, the idea does have some merit. While many (and the media) have lamented our unwillingness to spend high draft picks on KPP. They take time to develop, and takes a while to know if they're any good or not. If you're on the bottom of the ladder you need guys who are going to come straight in and be best 23. Trying to identify young tall talent in guys who've missed out on their draft years but gone away and worked at their deficiencies, built some bulk, endurance, whatever and then performed at state level holds a lot of merit from a risk reward perspective.

Worked with Benny Brown, Trembath looks likely, Finnbar yet to really "make it" but hey he's on a senior list, Pink is improving, didn't work out for Sellers; Byrne certainly looks to have the physical attributes so why not.

The worst part of the Toby Pink critique is some assumption that every member of a successful TEAM has to come pre-stamped as certified A Grade talent. Whatever that is.

Every premiership team has at least a couple of guys people s******ed at who played a vital role for their coach.

Heck Richmond had about 15 of them.

Toby Pink applies himself to his role as well as anyone on the list. Martyn, Thompson and Tarrant all had their pants pulled down at times by bigger or faster opponents. But all of 4 these blokes were 100% focused on their position.

I mean, that's not the worst part. The worst part is that the loudest (and really sole) voice critiquing Toby has a long and storied history of propping up some absolute spuds (how's Bigoa doing?)

Agree fully, and it's plain to see that the more Pink played, the better he got. He had some genuinely brilliant moments last year. Remember that Richmond game at the G? HERO.

And the coaches clearly rate him. Let's not forget that he averaged the most votes-per-game in the Syd Barker last year among all tall defenders;
