Treacy (and Voss) coming on will possibly turn out to be a major timeline shift as it meant we didn't spend heaps of capital on Logan McDonald (lol) and could focus on other areas of need (Maybe the Chad next year).

I was always big on Treacy but Voss was a big surprise to me. Hopefully he can continue on.

Stunning recruitment finding quality forwards for throw away picks.

I hope we look back on the 2025 draft with the same outlook. Getting potentially 4-5 small tackling forward/mids with different strengths and weaknesses might be a masterstroke if 2-3 can make it and 1-2 end up very good.

This is going to be unpopular . I agree that it was fantastic recruitment, but let's not forget about the ability of of the Fremantle coaches to get the best out of these types of players. You can add Waggs, Rayn, Worner and hopefully Dudley and Kickett. Even McDonald on the form he has shown would be getting a regular games with some teams.

Question to the esteemed posters on here. Can you think of examples where a 3 pronged attack like ours worked, I’ve seen plenty of twin towers operate , my memory is failing me on the triple threat.
Buddy, Roughy and Gunston did alright, with Hale resting forward while Bailey rucked.

Not sure why you think your post would be unpopular. I definitely agree with you.

And I will add that we have overcome some significant setbacks from holding players constantly in rehab.

The club is getting more areas of it's operations performing at a higher level.

I think we are still waiting for a switch to be flicked though.

Decent amount of teams with three talls working successfully right now.

Tex, Fogarty, Thriller

Hogan, Stringer, Cadman

Gunston, Chol, Dear

We got a good one, but it's not that unusual these days.

He's on minimal money

On a different note is it just me or does Wagner look like he's stepped up more than ever and look vital to Freo taking the next step to making top 4?
He is super important and shapes as a key resigning. The fact that he would be on minimal money in 2026 gives us a massive edge in resigning him if his form picks up like I expect it to. Just like with Braysahw we can sign him to an extension that ups his 2026 payments as a contracted player.

Yeah but "Vanilla" :)

Hawkins, Cameron, Rohan

Franklin, Roughead, Gunston

Putting aside structural questions, it's very rare to have three b23 KPFs because they're one of the most expensive position to pay for (equivalent to premium inside midfielders). We have Amiss, Voss, Treacy all together on reasonable coin because they're very young, similar to Brisbane benefiting in their midfield from Ashcroft, Fletcher being kids. Hawks obviously would have been better if they could have afforded to keep Buddy.

We need to be able to afford Serong. He's out of contract soon.

We're not run by idiots any more; I'm absolutely certain there is an untouchable Serong-sized chunk of our future salary cap that has gone unmolested by other negotiations.

(And our cap can't be too immediately tight if we were eyeing off Pickett and Warner.)

Keeping Murph in a few years is gonna take some wrangling, though.

1. Caleb isn't going anywhere, no matter the circumstances. He will turn down larger offers from Vic clubs, to stay.
2. Pretty sure the Build pod he is doing for the club would be a well-paid gig, outside of the salary cap. Or at the very least in the soft cap. This is purely a guess, but there is no way he's giving access to his personal life for nothing.

On top of the ones already mentioned:

Brisbane 2024 = Daniher, Hipwood, Morris
Brisbane 2025 = Didn't really have the quality, but they would make sure they had 3 x tall forwards (e.g. Morris, Gallop, Fort)
Brisbane 2026 = 3 out of Allen, Morris, Hipwood, Gallop, and they've got Draper and Fort as well.
