Not sure how much can be taken from the AFLs Fantasy magazine they put out every year, but it seem that Adam Sweid is the most valuable Fremantle draftee this year. All except Sweid are rated at being worth $230,000 and Sweid valued at $254,000.
These are the going rates for those that play AFL Fantasy.
And there are a number of players that have been at the club for a few years valued at $230,000.
I get the magazine every year to keep up with players from all clubs.Never played any fantasy footy games.Just like the mag.

Over the last five years:
  • Claremont - 16 draftees
  • Subiaco - 12 draftees
  • Peel - 11 draftees
  • East Fremantle 8 draftees
  • East Perth - 6 draftees
  • Perth - 6 draftees
  • West Perth - 4 draftees
But let's be honest here, in the main it is more about where the locations of the clubs are in relation to the private schools that feed them, and the connections that said schools have with recruiters and the ability for said schools to also give scholarships out to the good talent etc.
No player in the top 7 for five years.

A total of 11 draftees in the top twenty picks in 5 years.

Massive failure.

Steely Green is another that comes to mind. What year did Richmond take him?

My employer has a long standing partnership with the Claremont colts. The colts are the top priority there. They are very committed to their pathway program and allocate their resources accordingly. They seem a very well run club.

I think Fox will be rubbing their hands together because it appears that they will once again stop C& broadcasting games once again on Saturdays.
Pretty soon, Fox will be the sole provider.
Fox footy paid extra to the AFL to get exclusive Saturday games remember.
The AFL couldn’t resist the extra cash, even though fans didn’t like having no FTA footy on Saturdays anymore.

I’d love to see a graph of indexation of AFL executive wages over the last 20 years or so.id say they are well ahead of inflation anyway!

Agreed. Said on here during the year that there hasn’t been a consensus A-grader drafted from WA since Chad Warner at pick 37 in 2019.

It’s 2026 now.

Dan Curtin is probably the best in that time since then and that’s based off maybe 8 weeks of good footy in 2025, so he’s got quite a bit to prove yet.

A lot of talk about SOO around at the moment.
If you put together a WA under 24 team and faced them off against Vic under 24s - Jesus it would be some thrashing. 😳

There should be alarm bells going off at the WAFC

What people don’t understand the impact on the future of the Dockers and West Coast.

Less go home A grade talent but at the same time a go factor for Victorian talent.

The WAFC and AFL power struggle will destroy WA football.

Why should wafc care about the AFL?

Little incentive for them to produce AFL ready players.

This slippery slope will destroy the game. Look at cricket in England to discover what happens when you take it off FTA tv for a quick buck. There won’t be talent in other countries to recruit either to make up for the participation drop off.

They shouldn’t be allowed to do it considering the tax breaks and public money that goes into the sport. It should be free on tv for everyone to watch.

KAYO/FOX has the worst commentators. All the money in the world and they focus on employing ex players on personality or lack of.

A good player doesn't make a good commentator or analyst.

Even listening to Pav was painful.
I agree about Pav. He wasn't suited as I think he was compromised by his inability to be fair in assemments>
But seriousy, I really do dislike what I hear from the C7 commentators.
They grate on me.Mind you, the Fox crew are not much better.
But Fox, without Dermott will be much better.
And C7 here in WA, well they are far too one sided to even think of listening.

What I am confused is that commentators do every little research.

Ex Coaches give good inside but the ex AFL Players have kept up with the good.
