Fair point will move on. Glad to have him here as much as you fello blue baggaThe original comment is regarding Newman being an upgrade, therefore the fact Byrne is now retired is irrelevant to the argument.

ShhhhhhhJust a warning, prepare to be disappointed by his "elite" kicking.

In terms of his bites off more than he can chew with his kicks or his kicking is overrated in general?
Both, but moreso the overconfidence and decision making is iffy for him.
He can still pull off some ripping kicks and his goalkicking is accurate if he gets a sniff, but I always thought Swans fans overrated him just because the rest of our team can't kick for crap so he stood out when he did do some good things.
DittoI had him in my SuperCoach team in 2017 when he first started getting a game so kinda followed him a bit early on.
Had a few big efforts, 2017 round 8 against norph probably being his best outing:
35 disp
82% eff
19 kicks
11 marks
4 tackles
460m
13 CP
151 SC

Turns up every week and has a dip.
Think most will be optimistic we can finish above 18th next year, and the pick will likely be pushed back further by F/S and academy picks.
It's not nothing, but it's not far off. Well worth the risk given where we're at right now.
