I sadly think they're on the right track now. Cleared out the majority of the nuffs. Rosa will set them on a good path, and that doesn't include trading for players like Short.

The total disrespect for Short in here is embarrassing, I thought we were all Richmond supporters?
Players can be criticised for sure but Short has been a very good player for us, but did have an off year last year. He may very well come good again once we get some experience into the younger tigers.

Since winning the Jack Dyer medal in 2020 in a premiership year, he's had Top 10 finishes in 2021 (7th), 2022 (6th) and 2024 (8th)

(I still support trading him at the end of the year though, I'd imagine we've paid out most of his contract so it could get us a half decent pick for a team in need)

Depends. If it means we get the points required for a Leys/Armstong/Daffy....

Short is a glue guy, culture guy, leader on and off the field. You dont tip these guys out, you let them earn their spot if they get overtaken then they are still at your club providing the above off the field and for the ids in the VFL.

I can't see us moving Short on. But if we do I'd guess that it is for overs. Some teams in contention might want his experience and talent to tip them over the edge.

But he'll be with the Tigers for the next few years.

He's contracted until end of next year, when he'll be a free agent and we'll get dust for him. Hence wanting to trade him at end of this year. We get decent value (especially needed if our father/sons come good), and we open up a spot for a younger player.

We'll see. I expect him to stay. But I won't be shocked if he moves on.

Jayden Short is very similar to Kamdyn McIntosh culturally imo
He will provide a level that the younger players will need to pass and be better than him to take his spot.

If they do take his position then its upto him if he wants to retire or continue at another club ( which i wouldnt blame him)
But we wouldnt get anything for him and would wish him all the best
