AFL will want him to play for Tasmania from 2027.

Away from the Melbourne bubble/media.

I don't think it's a given that he reaches anywhere near his potential though. 3-4 years out of the game at top level and he'll be languishing in a young Tassie side that by the time rises up the ladder, he'll be retirement age.

best case for Taryn and the world at large: he has or does turn a leaf, and works hard enough on both himself, repairing damage caused, and his football to eventually earn another go at an AFL club in a couple of years time. Then becomes a model citizen in terms of owning his many past mistakes and using that experience to teach hard lessons to others on the wrong path.

best case for north: he gets back on an AFL list and then more poor behaviour emerges, causing much distraction and angst for said club and further validating north’s decision (not that any further validation is needed).

If it has to be the latter, please let it be * or Geelong.

Putting aside all of the horrible stuff Tarryn has done for a moment, from a purely selfish football point of view it will hurt seeing this guy play AFL again after all the shit we've been through as a club over the last five years.

Our one gun academy or father son player turns out to be a shithead. We can't catch a break.

He'd truly have to disappear for a few years and have the MIB neuraliser applied to fans/members from other clubs.
It only requires one irate fan in a social media post to whip up the supporter base of that club when it makes the news.
I'm not as confident as others that he gets another chance at AFL level, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Eligible in 2025?

Would there be a team with a player listed as LTI that might be interested as a mid-season selection?

Watch out for some friendly media pushing the "paid a heavy price" campaign. Gee, I won't be surprised if Tim Whatson from * / St Kilda doesn't try making a comeback.

This is the barrier. Could it be pulled off? Maybe, but I think pretty much all clubs wouldn't deem him worth the PR storm he would bring upon them. In addition to supporters, imagine an AFLW team making some kind of united stand against their own club for drafting TT. Not ideal, optics-wise.

Can see how the whole redemption thing will be spun but don't see how it will pass with the women.
It was only 6 months ago that a few clubs dipped their toes in the water & the AFLW side (and club sponsors) reaction was swift.
Could cause internal issues with any club that took him on.
His case was still pending at the time though. Really bad look that he was being considered with that case hanging over him which could have gone any way. Now it's been resolved it might be different.

plus dont be surprised if girls (his exes) come forward with more stuff if he ever makes it back, to try ruin him again

I reckon a lot is up to Tarryn. His management should get him doing volunteer work so he sees the damage caused by domestic violence. Maybe get him working with a ladies football program if any will have him and then try to get his career back.

If he did something proactive to change the narrative I think people would come around quite quickly but when he has previously committed offences while going through a redemption programme it is hard not to be cynical about his motives.

Can see that the AFL won't budge this year on him (and to be honest I don't doubt they would be hoping they never have to approve him) and if the VFL run a line through him too, can't see that he has it in him to do the hard yards knowing that the two highest grade comps in the game and state have said no way. It also seems across social media bar the edgelords who have been backing him on those sites there's a pretty big campaign to keep him out of clubs, looking at things like reddit and X.

2025 is going to need some real hard commitment, he might be best served working out what else he wants to be when he grows up.
