Past #26: Tarryn Thomas [Part III] - [C.Twomey] AFL rules TT is eligible to play in all competitions as of 14 October

Don’t mistake what I’m saying here, Toby is a gun but he’s a burst player if Toby had the same physical attributes, he’d be playing in the centre.
They have the same forward traits. We scream out for a front and centre half forward with goal sense. I believe he will push into the middle but we need his forward craft

We dont agree often. Yes. In this Tarryn conundrum, without knowing what occurred and whether its been proven. Its complete and utter bullshit
Lol, you’ll probably find we agree on more things than you realise, I’m just a shit..

Sheez is the death by a thousand cuts type player, you want the ball in his hands as much as posible, as ten minutes of brilliance and he’ll be the player who piles on goals and assists.
He has come from Ajax, there’s a lot of hurdles.

We need 4 Sheezels 😂

He played in the centre as a first year player and averaged 28 touches. He plays in the forward line because he Is too dangerous there not to, not because he can't play on ball.

Arguably the best forward in the comp.

Alright wrong thread, I get it.. to make it relevant… with TT suspension looming, Sheezel needs to be forward of centre

Not if he'd king hit someone in the past. Past record is an aggravating factor for any semi competent justice official.

Do we have any indication that the events are from 18 months ago? And if it is from back then, how many sodding women can one bloke wrong?

It's hard to find an avenue through this that doesn't involve a facepalm. And to think the dude's probably gonna explore his options for a contract elsewhere at the end of the year if he can. I haven't forgotten that 'do my two years at North Melbourne' line and the antics of his manager
The post by gustaaf sums it more clearly than I managed to.

Ducks premiership medals?

Seriously there is a long history of things getting covered up in the AFL like over 100 years. Figuratively the carpet that all the crap has been swept under would be 10mtrs wide 3mtrs high and go half way to the moon! Counterintuitively I think if TT can get through this it might be the best thing that’s happened to him for personal growth and development, the rose coloured glasses should have been well and truly removed.
Retrospective dishonours? Sure why not? Wayne is a scumbag

Suggestions it could be worse. And there is no 'time served'. He hasn't missed a game yet.
He missed last year's pre season and the first 11 rounds of the AFL season. He is again missing a significant chunk of the current pre season which will impact on the season proper. Whilst they weren't official AFL suspensions, they have the same impact on his ability to play, all the result of being punished for his disrespectful treatment of women. The AFL most certainly needs to take that into account when considering appropriate punishment and TT/North need to ensure it is raised with them for consideration. The AFLPA needs to be very strong on this and represent TT with vigour. I know it isn't exactly the same as double jeopardy, but it almost feels as if they are returning to the same well to pull up past sins to have another go at TT.

I was very critical of TT last year, but I'm now very angry with how he now seems to be persecuted. For me the main issue is how he has behaved since copping his punishment last year and after he completed the course he was required to undertake to improve his respect of women. What is the point of rehabilitation if you're going to punish him again for old sins? When will it stop?

You are assuming it's old sins. Might be new sins. I am assuming (don't know) its after the last indiscretion and the course.

Unfortunately, in our current system majority of domestic violence cases go unconvicted. It's very hard to get a conviction. There are plenty of serial offenders that go throughout life never being convicted of domestic violence.

Saying because someone didn't go to the police (we don't know if they have) means that it didn't happen is pretty much the opposite of what statistics say about domestic violence.

If what we've heard rumoured through media, that the complainant is the same woman from last year (although I am still unclear if the charges Tarryn had to defend all came from one woman) and as police and court action clearly didn't result in the conviction that she felt was appropriate, then it'd be understandable why she might have less faith in the police and the courts a second time around.

And as you say, we don't actually know that she didn't go to the police this time. They may have listened to her and advised her that a conviction was no certainty this time either. And not forgetting that Tarryn was whacked harder by his employer than the court system last year, and so that's why she will have taken up the AFL's reporting system.

Side note;
Tarryn Curzon st.mural has been painted over.
Jeepers. I wonder if it is a sign or just a coincidence.
I believe the whole building has been painted as part of the owner's plan. The mural was never intended to be a permanent installation. Not sure if the timing of this refurbishment has been accelerated due to Tarryn's current issues.

Or you can look into it and realise he was actually with the girl who is now the ex during the time when it was all being investigated? So yes it is very credible that his partner kept it all quiet as they were together at the time. Now that they recently split, she has gone to the AFL integrity unit with texts and evidence that shows abuse/threats from a situation that happened last year.

This forum never seems to amaze. People look for information, get information and it isn’t what they want to hear and then try shoot it down.

Give me a message this time next week, looking forward to it.
Easily Triggered. :smirk look

As much as I appreciate mural artwork....the one regarding TT is not important regardless of the reason for it being painted over. If people wanted and provided they have permission.....another one elsewhere can be constructed.

Update - according to a NM person (outsider now) the club is bracing for a 10-12 weeker. My other source is still saying potential deregistration. I suppose the common link is a substantial suspension.

Update - I submitted an each-way bet on a horse at the TAB this morning.
Fair call but just telling you what I have heard. I don't think there is much difference tbh. Interestingly neither could tell me what the allegations are. I think they would have to be extreme to warrant deregistration so 10'ish weeks seems the most likely.

Are the afl about to use the Super Bowl as cover for TT??
A good strategy I suppose but if the 10 weeks or worse stories are true it would get front page so I think the timing probably doesn't matter much now.
