But he’s also taking the second best defender. Would other teams put their second best defender on Pink or Teakle?
Yep probably. Lets not pretend there isn't a thread in here predicting his goal tally. Now that he’s underperforming we’re changing the metrics. He’s offered **** all the last 3 weeks and no more than Pink or Teakle were in the same role.

He is still on track for most of the serious predictions in that thread. He's averaging one goal a game right now - 23 goals for the season.

Before the Carlton game, he was the 7th highest rated key forward in the league, as per champion data.

I thought Jack was brought in to be more of a CHF and also take some opposition away from Larkey. I mostly saw Larkey up the ground and Darling deep yday.

Comben needs to play CHF high...as I have kept saying since last year, should not be in defence if Logue and Pink are available.

That analysis from Lloyd was terrible. It amounted to "North are bad, so why are they picking Darling?"

Reminds me of how we used to hear "When is Majak going to step up?" Lazy. Darling is far from the issue and I'd be far more concerned about midfield and HB turnover.

Recall the left foot pass inside to Parker who scored from a set shot? We have very little of that composure right now.

We've overworked him. Jack Darling of 2025 is not the same Jack Darling of 2015. I don't why we are driving him into the ground as though it is 2015.

For real. Why the hell are we rucking him so much, it's leaving Larkey in the exact same predicament we brought this guy in to address. Move Chom forward or bring Teakle or do anything else...

We’ve paid peanuts for an old beat up jalopy that we’re going to use and abuse. The problem with the plan is that we should have a young, developing KF underneath him ready to take over when he completely packs it in.

We haven’t.

We have one. But we persist in trying to mould him into an intercept defender

Yes, well we don't seem to inclined to get him up forward.

Ideally, you put him forward again, and at some point, W Dawson and Whitlock slot in to defence.
Agreed. I would pull the trigger immediately, and while Whitlock is injured and Will Dawson is still uderdone, play Kallan Dawson in the backline. Anything to get Comben out of there and fix our forward line at the same time.

I'd still like to see a young KF developing in the VFL to keep them honest.

Maley's more of a "throw at the stumps " rookie wildcard.
