Oh for ****s sake. The teaser Redman showed in a couple of games last year has me looking forward to seeing him play moreso than pretty much anyone else.

He'll be coming from a very long way back once this is healed, he hasn't been able to get many miles in his legs.

Well that ******* sucks, but as far as fractures go at least it's not that bad. A non displaced fracture means that while the bone has been broken it has been a fairly clean break in one place and remained in alignment, reducing the complexity of the required surgery. Compare this to a complicated fracture where the break is in two or more places and the bone fragments have moved out of place. Easiest to think of the first as a crack and the second as a true break or shatter.

His previous syndesmosis fracture is more a fracture of the ankle joint itself, with the break extending to the joint at the base of the fibula and including damage to the tendon connecting the fibula to the tibia.

The second break was bad, but the first was just damn awful, so at least there's a silver lining... but given he was still on his way back from a serious break his rehab time will be extended.

Redman has lots of talent I reckon, and he's still young, but he's possibly one more injury away from being one of those unlucky footballers with lots of talent who never got the best out of himself because of injury :(

We have plenty of depth in his position so it should be fine. Just a shame as he showed that he has what it takes last year. Looks like Gleeson might battle as well. Time for Francis and Riddley to step up.

Would trade Gleeson if one of Francis or Ridley step up.

Dont think Gleeson will be the same player after his injury.

It sucks for him but not end of the world has only played 5 games since he's been drafted it's not like his an intergal part of the 22.

6'2 guys with pace and a top 5 engine who can play in defence with stints on ball.

If he wasn't an integral part of the team it's only a matter of time.

Realistically, I'd say he can probably be fit enough to play in the first month.

It's more the frustration that's he's not going to have the preseason usually required to 'break out'

Think Redman would compliment our backline beautifully as a running winger that can play a defensive role.

Good tank with good disposal, and reads the play well. Hopefully he’s able to get a good second half of the season in as I think he and Ridley are two guys that are very exciting young players.

So frustrating. With a good pre-season he would have been right in the mix for round 1 after the form he showed before he got injured the first time.

If there are no more complications he might still have a role to play in the second half of the year - can use the first half of the season in the VFL to get his fitness base and touch back.

Heartbreaking for Mason. You could tell how hard he worked to get his start in the team and how much he wanted to make an impact after a very length VFL apprenticeship. I had him as easily best 22 this season so really rotten luck and timing for him.

It does present an opportunity for a Begley or Ridley to step up and claim that spot in the 22 though. Risk for Mason is that so many of his peers may pass him while he is sidelined.

The modfield group you say? How did he fare against the other mods? He had Doss covered, didnt he?
It's a modified group - not a group of mods. Doss mostly just watches and waits for things to get out of hand. He only jumps in if Redman and Gleeson start pinching or biting each other.
