If he's that ****ed that a single game poses too much risk, he would retire.
And if he does get re-injured this coming game like previous occasions (which nobody can guarantee isnt going to happen) he will probably have to retire.

And all the arguements from all the people saying we should have played him will be catastrophically wrong. If it happens, I don't want to hear 'it was bad luck'.

If there is any benefit in holding him back he should be. There's a full off season of additional strength and conditioning available.

You don't think he's done plenty of strength and conditioning work in the last year? I'd guess he's probably more likely to get injured in his first game back after a preseason. Atleast now he has a handful of proper matches under his belt.

Yeah has played more VFL games in a row than he ever has SINCE he was first injured

How do we know if he played VFL this week instead the injury couldn’t happen there? Too many what-ifs. We should celebrate this moment. Even with a preseason and his return game next year would be a risk.

Gibcus playing is 100% a mental gift going into pre season. I am all for it. This guy more than anyone needs it.

Thats just pure stupidity.

What is the club thinking here? Absolutely nothing to gain.
Incorrect. Coming back from long term injury is just as much mental as physical. Getting a taste for it leading into a pre season can make a world of difference

No point arguing, you're wasting your breath.

Our club apparently never makes mistakes and has managed all our injured players so well this season.................

If we continue to play him in a lower paced, lower demand VFL he has a lower risk of injury and heads into an off season and preseason in full health.

Play him now in a higher paced, higher demand AFL environment and you risk everything, including his career.

For mine it doesn't make sense.
he better not cross the road he could get hit by a car

It's a nightmare just waiting to happen.

If it does happen, at least a few of us can extend some further common sense to this recklessbunch of heathens whilst they potter about in their misery and claim it was simply bad luck 🤣

I really hope I'm wrong, I just see it as an unnecessary risk all for just 1 meaningless game.
Plenty have said "oh but he has been playing VFL anyway", there's a big step between VFL and AFL on the body that is being overlooked too easily.

Glad to see him get one game. hopefully playing a les intense role. just touch it a few times and feel part of the whole thing.

If we get him back playing to his ability he's an A grader. Gotta do whatever we can for that.
